Re: MBB G13 Final: Louisiana 73, SLU 72
Turbine, come on man? A basketball loss to SLU is a friggin calamity, a win is a yawner. That’s just telling it like it is.

I'm not sure of the frame of reference. I like the program Marlin has built. Good kids that graduate, which if we remember, is the point. If someone wants 'win at all costs', go watch the NBA. Student-athletes are what the program is about. I would certainly like more success against our peers and I think if that doesn't happen consistently in the 2-3 years, it may be time to look elsewhere. I accept that basketball in the rural South is a hard proposition and I highly doubt if Cajun basketball will ever look like Blackum in the 70's but neither will anywhere else. I do know that the constant _____ing and whining on a message board does zero to advance our program.

I’m gonna reject your opening point. If’n that’s all you’re interested in we need to hire a educator, give out academic scholarships and play in Earl K Long. Of course I think it’s a three legged stool with academic, good citizens, and high athletic success being the three legs.

Neither is the current head coach or Mike bozo Murphy

You have total control over one and none over the other.

Or just allow a thug coach to recruit thugs to come and win some ball games.
But I do agree with your 3 legged stool analogy.

I have control over both... head coaches are shown the door real quick once donations dry up Im doing my part on both ends
Re: MBB G13 Final: Louisiana 73, SLU 72
You cannot call yourself successful with any two legs. Nobody is suggesting a thuggish coach. Again it's a three legged stool. It's never one way or the other that's going to be successful. You're just throwing out straw dogs to cover his failure.
But you’ve already said that you’re fine with mediocrity. Hopefully you enjoy hanging with Big Fish at the lunches.
Re: MBB G13 Final: Louisiana 73, SLU 72
What current program do you want us to look like?
Re: MBB G13 Final: Louisiana 73, SLU 72
I can name too many. This, though, is slow death. But since ya asked Nevada for example was crap a few years back.

Who? What program should we emulate? Its easy to say what we want.
Re: MBB G13 Final: Louisiana 73, SLU 72
Dude, it’s year nine. He’s topped out and you’re fine with that. It’s okay for you, but I grew up with much better. Just get used to lots of elbow room and no top of the arena seats needed.

Agreed Musselman has done a great job with the Pack. I would be happy with their level of success.
Do you think that's strictly because of the coach?
Re: MBB G13 Final: Louisiana 73, SLU 72
Yeah, probably everyone but the Blue Bloods of ncaa basketball

Agreed, good comeback on the road. Hoping Marquetti is ok.
