What if upper deck were scrapped then rebuilt by RCAF as a separate occupancy from lower bowl? Then the lower bowl can be freshened but otherwise not a total redo. Let RCAF build smaller matching west and east upper decks wrapped with pre-sold suites, stadium clubs, and squeeze a press box in there. Still takes big money, willing donors, winning program.
The sentiment is the same MAT, we just voted on some property tax renewals and now the council want to come back again in November with more here in Lafayette. I have no intentions on voting for any more property taxes when we are not a consolidated government.Quote:

Houston’s new stadium cost them $128M to build. We don’t need to spend $250M. It also doesn’t have to be huge. 35-40k seats would be ideal. I really like the designs of the smaller soccer stadiums across Europe. Or just take Tulanes design for the one side of the stadium that’s actually a real stadium. Lol
UCF estimated cost to build there stadium in 2006 was 45 million. They spent 54 million. Stadium has capacity of 45,000.Quote:

Cajun Field is in worse shape than people realize. I won't go into specifics but there are significant structural issues. There's basically no chance we'll keep the same structure. This may even be true for the East side because it also has significant structural problems. We will have to act on this not out of want, but necessity. We are very close to safety hazard territory here. Because of this, I would expect us to have a new stadium sooner rather than later. I just hope we can come up with enough funds to do it the right way.
I don't know how likely this is, but there is hope that the issues are so significant that state emergency funds may be on the table to help pay for any new renovations. Our neglect could actually work out in our benefit.
