Hopefully this down performance becomes a turning point for our offense this season (much like the midpoint of last season when Shug got everyone fired up on the bus ride home). I hope our offense has officially hit bottom.

Robbins has been a much improved but seems to be a terrible slump of late. Clem is solid. Mills is much improved. Conrad status quo I guess.

Tomorrow is a critical game in my opinion. Long ride home after getting your butt kicked, let the last two games send you into a tailspin at the plate and a Tech team playing well coming in. Need to respond because how we play tomorrow will affect a tricky road weekend.

Pretty simple equation here...when our pitching isn't lights out, it can not cover up our shortcomings at the plate. Game was blown open on an 0-2 pitch that landed over the wall. And that was the game. We left 11 on base and they gave us 7 free base runners. If I'm not mistaken our two runs were on a flare to the outfield. I know this...we have been an action team the last few seasons. Bunt, steal, hit and run, squeeze....and we stuck it in the gap when we needed to. We are not an action team this year. We do not put pressure on the defense. That's concerning to me. We are not a power team and that's fine. But we have got to make things happen on the bases. And I don't mean run ourselves out of innings like we are capable of.

This is exactly why people think it's a system issue. Forgot how to run the bases over the summer? Forgot how to execute a bunt? Forgot how to be aggressive in a smart and useful way?
