I just read an email on my school account saying that all students get into the game free with a valid student ID. This is great news!
Are there brackets to see whom we would play if we win???
The CIT takes the old NIT approach. Next round matchups determined by who wins in the previous round. Tourney officials will try to group teams with others within region to minimize travel.
So If the Broke backs and UL both take care of business wednesday we could be seeing a nice lil regional match up here in the dome!
Look at the field. We can win this dam tournament!!!!!!!
When the news broke that the UL Ragin’ Cajuns basketball team will be hosting a first-round game in the CollegeInsider.com postseason tournament, there were several reactions. One of the most popular ones was, what good does it do to play in a ...
You know what else it deserves? Promotion.
I'll be surprised if we draw over 4K.
no they sure don't
its sad, other than say the front two rows of the student section
our student section SUCKS!!!!!! they dont really get into the game, it p*sses me off, watch any college basketball game and you see there student section in full force
i mean worst case stand up and watch the game, dont sit down...you never see the student section sit down during football games
For any of you out of town Cajuns, it looks like the CIT has set up some free video (I think) streaming of all the games.

This video really gives some good perspective from recent teams that participated in the tournament, such as Old Dominion which won the 2009 CIT and the following year had a great season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in which they won their first round game.

We really can't underestimate the role this tournament can play in the future of our basketball team. If we perform well and win a few games or possibly the whole thing ( which I firmly believe we can ), then it will only provide a launching pad for success into next season in which our team will believe we have a purpose to fulfill more-so than just starting a new season from scratch after a first round loss in the Sun Belt Tourny.
I'm really pumped about this game tomorrow night! Hope to see everyone there!
It would be huge for the program if we win this tournament. I hope the guys on the team realize this.
Do not underestimate the recruiting value of being able to say "UL has been in the post season for '__' straight years."
You mean a student section like this?

The lack fan support, much less participation, is an anomaly. I know I'll be there with two others and have been spreading the word to other friends. I for one am really excited and will try to be loud. A post season game at the dome? How awesome is that? It doesn't matter what tournament we're in. These guys are getting the post season bid they missed out on last year. Now I just wish we could have the same buzz about the program as last year.

For the first time since March 1985, a postseason basketball game will be played on the campus of the University of Louisiana. The Ragin’ Cajuns men’s basketball team hosts Rice on Wednesday, March 14 at 7:05 p.m. in the Cajundome in a first round game of the Collegeinsider.com Tournament (CIT).
Big advantage I see to this tourney is getting Elfrid Payton more time running the team. The more games he plays this year, the better he will be next year.
