Think you’re right, and Habetz was able to get a couple transfers due to different circumstances. But the overwhelming majority had already picked a new school or were closed out by the time she started.
Let’s be clear, though: to me, results of last few games should be unacceptable. They just aren’t getting it done right now, but they are better than this despite injuries.
Whoever said goal should be tournament bye and hope to win it is exactly right. Play hard and see what happens.

4 batters have 5 more HR than our entire team.
The pitchers are significantly better than what we have playing at the moment. Not saying someone like Wheeler won't develop. Just has a ways to go.
Add even just 1 pitcher and pick 2 position players and we're still maybe holding onto the top 25. Take away all 7, and you have this year's squad doing what they can.

Yeap it is just disheartening to see our beloved softball program in shambles. Let's hope the girls keep fighting and things turn around. We cannot lose the series to a decent ULM team this weekend.

Brutal, thanks Glasco. My love and joy for college sports is at a lifetime low. Could care less about March madness these days. I was really hoping the bat/ball sports wouldn't change too much, but that was naive thinking.
Re: SB Final: UL 4, McNeese 5
Well, I've come to the conclusion that we are gonna move down the totem poll quite a bit especially if we don't make some hard decisions on personnel. Will we replace some team members if we find more talented replacements? This is a difficult subject to address for any coach, but I wonder if CAH has the toughness for this type of decision. I know she's a bono fide competitor, so I'm hoping the competitor in her trumps the genuinely nice and respectful person we know she is. It's about what's best for the program and that includes coaches too. This situation will ultimately decide the type of program we'll have in the near future.
Re: SB Final: UL 4, McNeese 5
Upcoming opponents on the Lady Cajuns schedule:
ULM - RPI - 62
LSU - RPI - 4
Coastal Carolina - RPI 29
LA Tech - RPI - 72
Troy - RPI - 58
JMU - RPI - 83
USA - RPI - 105
Texas A & M - RPI - 1
TX State - RPI - 52
USM - RPI - 106
8 out of the next 10 opponents are in currently in RPI top 100
7 of 10 are RPI top 75
3 of 10 - top RPI 50
2 of 10 - top RPI 5
This will not get any easier and that is good. Still a shot at an at large with SBC being so good this year. Top 5 softball RPI wise conference, but just do not know if we have the pitching.

Right.
I was pleasantly surprised by how they finished in the early season OOC. They got some good wins but also had some bad losses.
Just want to see them continue to improve. The last week and a half has been bad softball. The pitching is sliding further back with the free passes. The offense continues to frustrate. Poor baserunning and multiple errors. All that stuff.

I agree the dilemma for Habetz is will she cut bait with players on the team IF she finds more talented replacements?

How was basketball able to sign a transfer (before the coach was announced) but last year softball didn't.
Could they have

Oh what could have been. All of our former players are putting up good numbers.

What basketball transfer are you referring to?
