Read the room (legislature). The me too u’s haven’t gotten on board with the name, you really think they’d allow a UL med school?
They’d all be pulling a Cliff Newman and running to LSU for help.
The only way UL gets a med school is a T Boon Pickens level donor where the state couldn’t say no.

Wow, so on field success is indirectly proportional with customer satisfaction?

So sodexo is capable? Just chooses to tank our services?
Re: RISE: UL Master Plan Vision 2030
Given the current political climate, probably wise to not count on federal grant dollars for DEI initiatives.

Capable of alienating a fan base, sure.
They just started at Texas this year or last.
Give them the same leash that UL has given them and we will see.
Re: RISE: UL Master Plan Vision 2030
A medical school at UL would be ideal for making an impact in filling a national shortage of doctors. The data shows we need more primary care physicians, especially in rural areas. You would hope state leaders would put the health of people ahead of politics.

They will have a very short leash at Texas....and a seat on the top row surrounded by folks who will happily tie off the loose end and throw them over the rail.

Correct. And judging by the lack of student engagement, why would they? If they weren't engaged while here, why would they suddenly start after they've left. But alas.....we complain too much.

That’s why ULM is a landlord for a private medical school. Had similar discussions here in Lafayette, which included TSAB. Can’t be a threat to their monopoly of the flagship
UL has no intention of being a landlord.
Re: RISE: UL Master Plan Vision 2030
I have a feeling tsab was claiming this money on their R1 tally....

The federal government provides enormous subsidies to the wealthiest universities in the country. During fiscal year 2022, Ivy League universities received $1.8 billion for overhead on government-funded research grants. That represents 84 percent of the total amount of government subsidy those universities received.Feb 16, 2024
