Bowl Projections for Louisiana

I don’t get this. Iowa St in one projection, Cal in another. P-5 opponents after a 6-6 year?

Then you really don’t understand how the Bowl system works.
Happens to a lot of 6-6 and 7-5 G5 teams because SBC and other G5 conferences has their top teams locked into certain bowl games tie ins then ESPN puts the rest in bowls that the P5’s bowl slots that they could not fill.
We had our best bowl match up vs a now P5 team Houston last year in Indy bowl with our 6-6 record last year.

This is the facts! The SBC really needs to work on improving the tie-ins.

One way to improve the tie-ins would be a relegation type system and a performance based component.

It’s crazy that Troy could face Miami (OH) in the Lending Tree Bowl after beating App. and the Cajuns could face Iowa St. in the Armed Forces Bowl after beating ULM to reach 6-6. Louisiana arguably had the best Bowl last year out of the SBC. That needs to be fixed to reward the top teams.

Would this be first time we play a bowl against a school we also host to open softball season in louisiana classics?

These bowl tie ins will change next year for sure with all the conference realignments and 12 team playoff.

Agreed, but doesn't necessarily mean it will get better. I think the P4 conferences are going to get even more tie-ins as they have gotten bigger. However, as far as the G5 goes, I would expect/hope that the SBC gets elevated in the bowl tie ins based upon current performance.

It is going to be interesting to see how it plays out for sure.
