Re: Someone has to say it... (Saints)
The problem was that Williams thought about the tackle right before the attempt at making the tackle. If he just runs into the guy without thinking about it the game is over...rookie mistake. Hope this one play doesn't define his career.

Having to "think" makes great athletes less than average players.

The Saints are who we thought they were.

I feel bad for 43, actually. All of his colleagues in the NFL do it every game. He does it at the worst possible time. I hope he doesn’t take the failure of this tackling flaw personally. If he gets punched in the nuts for it... so should most coaches in collegiate and pro football. He didn’t learn that on his own.
Silver lining...maybe, just maybe, this will be the beginning of the end of the infatuation with that terrible tackling technique.

Short, but exactly to the point. The Saints were a borderline wild card team, that played way over their heads, got some incredible luck, and still played good enough to get a shot at the Super Bowl.

Not having to play Aaron Rodgers, the botched intentional grounding against the Redskins, playing the Panthers in round 1 of the playoffs, and getting two rookie QB's in their first starts. Luck is a very important part to any playoff run.

Sounds like every day football to me. Just like horrific tackling. But wtf do I know?

I can't attribute one players brain freeze to the whole team.

Sounds like the nature of sports in general. Calling it luck is just a cheap dig.

It takes more than one play to make a game.. win or lose. There were alot of things that contributed to the Saints losing that game. Not just one missed tackle at the end of the game.
