I wish "relish" converted into "playing well". I can understand us selling the relishing opportunities when we recruit. But we need to prove that it actually happens - providing regret to that P5.

How badly we need those funds is...part of the problem.
Re: UL FOOTBALL 2018 SCHEDULE
Let's get this straight... the RP posters that don't enjoy P5 azz kickings aren't talking about it because they're __ __ __. If we schedule these programs, we need to do like some of our regional counterparts and give them a good game. To sell these to recruits as an "opportunity to relish" only works for a while. If you get the dog snot mashed out of you, it eventually works against your recruiting. So... when your balls swell up about playing P5s, would you mind including "playing P5 teams without embarrassing the university"?

You balance it out by winning and scheduling more quality regional opponents like USM, Rice, Louisnana Tech, UAB, Tulane and SMU. Increasing your season ticket sales eliminates the dependency upon P5 money games. If USM can sell 20,000 season tickets, then we are certainly capable of doing it as well. Going from 13,000 season tickets a few years back to slightly more that 7,200 this season will not cut it. Season ticket sales are the backbone of athletic programs.

No prospect is coming to UL because of our out of conference schedule. They can play LSU and Miami at McNeese State as well. It's about winning championships and facilities. We have half of that formula, the other needs to come soon!

That would be an interesting question to ask, but I think you can get some ideal from reading their tweets showing off championship rings to programs that are recruiting them. Bowl wins are great, it certainly helps in regional recruiting if you beat a USM or Tulane in a bowl. There is direct correlation regionally between the two, but the further you move away from Louisiana I'm not certain it matters. But wouldn't you have a chance to win a bowl if you win the conference championship as well? It seems to me that if you win your conference championship there is an expectation of winning the bowl.

We should always try to schedule home and home with programs like USM, Louisiana Tech, UAB, Rice, SMU, Tulane. We should also reach out to Top G5 programs like Houston and Boise State. We have to beat programs like that before we over challenge a program that is still not on the level of USM and Louisiana Tech...
We're pretty much in agreement.
1 FCS
1 G5 (recruiting rivals first)
2 P5
conference schedule

Now if we can just get our staff to realize that they must beat regional programs or fall further behind.
