I voted for Fresno as well, only because I think their fan base is the smallest and uncaring about this poll. lol.

I love it, we are almost up by 3000 votes.
If we were in the other bracket we would be up 6000 lol

Check the Comments section. I asked them to call us Louisiana. They were calling us Louisiana Lafayette when this started. I pointed out the LOUISIANA on our jerseys. They changed everything to Louisiana.

Kudos to you sir, it's people like you, and institutions like coachingsearch.com that start the wave of change. I noticed the name change this morning, and was pleasantly surprised. Love this!!

Speaking of... Brian (ULSID) had mentioned earlier that for this coming season we would have some more outlets on board with using Just "Louisiana" anyone know where we stand with that. Is fox sports on board for the arky game? Is espn on board as well?

What confuses me is when i hear UL fans say, they dont understand why we want to drop the city from our name. They think it shows ofd how great our city is. Since we want to be called Louisiana not Louisiana Lafayette, it means we arent proud of our city.

What kind of argument is that?

A half baked Billy Bob come lately argument.

Full names sound cheap and besides the city always gets lead credit in any news story.

The university is bigger than the city it happens to be in. We have alumni across the state, nation and world. You never hear LSU fans say, "LSU-Baton Rouge".
