UL should give a ____. While we’re sitting home and all we can say as a student recruiting tool is “well, we’re R1”, McLeast’s website crashed last night due to volume. Heck their AD and president was on the court jumping up and down with childlike glee afterwards.

It wasn’t just WW. It was a concerted effort of seizing a flash in the pan moment. They grabbed the best PR hire available, like him or not.

I’d take Coach Q first any day, but that’s the type of energy UL needs. Winning fast and building upon it.

At the time of the hire, Will Wade was a risk not worth taking. And I still say that. I don’t think people understand the risk of a show-cause hire.

Yes they get to be the flavor of the month for a couple days now. What if it is determined McNeese committed NCAA infractions under Wade’s watch?

The answer, for a mid-major, is long-term penalties that could devastate the program.

Not saying shouldn’t make a major investment in your major sport hires. But Will Wade wasn’t the guy.
