How was the school "bound" to give him an extension for 1 good year? Makes the admin look even more inept for putting that in his last contract after 14 years of mediocrity.

A conference championship was an automatic one year extension on current contract. The 3 year contract that Maggard extended after is what people have an issue with although he is taking a pay cut with the buyout being much lower starting next year.

Actually legally obligated per his employment contract.

Read the last sentence. I understand it was in the contract. My point is why would they agree to that? Why would they bind themselves to extending this $#!+show??? 14 years not enough to judge??
Re: Nominate Bob Marlin's Biggest Win
The Bob Marlin era has to be the longest, most insignificant period in Ragin Cajuns sports history.

lol it’s called incentives poo poo. That’s pretty much commonplace in all legal contracts throughout sports.

I get that, but he should've been gone a looooooong time ago. I mean, did they think that after 10 plus years, they needed 3 more years to see if he was the guy? And on top of that, that if FINALLY, after all these years, he would happen to have a decent season in his final year, we should extend him AGAIN???? Has it really taken this long for people to see this guy is Milqutoast? Definition of mediocre. Let that go for 14 years and this is what we get. We've hit bottom. It's sad and embarrassing. And they obviously don't care.

Something Marlin had put into his original contract that has somehow, just rolled over and over.
I think it has been to his benifit on 3 different occasions.

Nobody besides me notices in the dome nobody with a retired jersey since Toney? Not high jacking, seems to coincide with where the program is today.
