I said odd statement because some things are a given.
I said odd statement because although his statement was very true, its TMI and NEI at the same time.

I just took cajunmike to point out that a change in recruiting leaders had been made going into this season. Coach Marlin is ultimately responsible, but, of course this new coach influence's impact will be felt on the court.

All the coaches are involved in recruiting. One guy took more of a lead role than in the past this period. The virus situation may have impacted that approach. I don't expect that to continue as significantly going forward. I did not expect my original statement to create this much discussion. No problem there as we do have little to talk about these days. Hopefully that changes soon.

We can all agree this is Marlin's last ditch effort to keep his job. A ton riding on him to get all these kids on the same page.

Probably not. I expect him to finish out his contract with the corona stuff. In fact, all coaches will probably have that luxury now.

3 years left on his deal?

Including next year, I believe so.

I’m not a Big Fish fan, he’s never delivered. Still almost all coaches look for strong assist coaches whose best coaching ability is recruiting. Often they come with a player or two to get their collegiate foothold.
Some head coaches best asset is an ability to assemble an outstanding staff.

And actually he did a good job. Now there are a lot of variables in this class because we don't know who won't be eligible. And we have a number of athletes that are recovering from injuries as well. But overall, they have assembled good talent in this class.jmo
