Nationally they're saying how awful is ole miss. Losing to two bad G5 teams. It's not like SFAustin beating a outstanding Duke team.
It just isn’t.

As bad as everyone thinks this teams is they still have 6 D1 wins. Granted they have not been against great teams, but Ole Miss is 6-6 not 0-12.
Re: Excitement in Oxford?
Well they did beat LATurd so that probably maybe makes them pretty good because I mean LaTurd

Yes, I have. Ole Miss is 6-6, but 5 of their wins are 4th quadrant and the 6th is quadrant 3. Brodhead at least got a couple of decent MSU teams to play here, and I give him kudos for that; but his success has come, like Marlins, from feeding on bottom dwellers. His teams have never been comptitive against the better teams in conference.
Ole Miss is projected by Warren Nolan to be 1-15 in conference play.

Itmay help with local fans who don't follow WBB, but it wont move the needle with national perception.
You are right that Marlin would be helped locally if he could get a couple of SEC bottom feeders to come here.

No future fan or recruit will know the relative ranking at the time of victory.
They will know that Louisiana is capable of beating nationally recognized teams
For them, that will matter
Re: Excitement in Oxford?
First of all you’re assuming that the players are ignorant and gullible. That’s insulting to them.
Next you’re also assuming that Ole Miss will at some point be a much better program. You may be correct. Don’t think that actually matters. I’m thinking about the men teams. They have a proud history beating an actual power in Georgetown, Kentucky, and Houston when they were a national power, and Oklahoma twice ranked at four, and again as the four seed.
