That first weekend will be a testing period. She may start some games, but I'm expecting Gerry to begin with Kourtney then go with Bailey.

I didn't see enough of fall practice to make any determinations as to who separated themselves from others for playing time. I'm expecting, in the beginning, Gerry will let a few of those who started last season have a chance to show they should be in the lineup. I think Bailey and Kourtney will flip flop the first weekend at first base and Gerry will use that to decide who gets more playing time.
Carrie Boswell will be in the circle. Gerry has too many options for designated hitter and she needs to be an integral part of the pitching staff.
Aeriyl is a defensive and base running specialist for this team. Unless she has made some dramatic strides in her hitting ability, and I'm not hearing anything to indicate that she has, there are too many better options in the lineup than her. Kourtney is a left batting power hitter that plays a great defensive first base. That makes her a little more valuable than Bailey.
Gerry has so many options he can use to fill the lineup. There are 5 spots in the lineup (DH, C, 1B, 2B & RF) that he can make replacements, some even a second replacement, and not lose anything offensively or defensively. There are all kinds of power hitters on the roster and many of them can also play defense. I think we will see by the time this team goes to Norman if they genuinely have the parts to be a legitimate national championship contender.
Gerry had the chance to see Kourtney all of last season, so he knows her capabilities. It would be necessary to see Bailey first hand to get a feel for her skill set. I recognize that I could be off base about this, but I think Gerry checks them both out the first weekend and uses that to consolidate whatever decision he needs to make.
