Hud had a lot better talent when he got here than Napier had when he got here.

For the record I hate all the cliches put on these athletes. All are unproven at the collegiate level and will have to work extremely hard to be successful. Hopefully these kids sign with us and can be a part of a winning team.
I get it, you were just pointing out the stereotypes in recruiting. I can tell you they unequivocally exist as I witnessed in my number of years covering camps. The worst perpetrators of the stereotypes of white athletes are white coaches. And most of those coaches are in the deep South, you see much less of it in the North and West. You can see it in the number of white skilled athletes offered at programs like Stanford, Notre Dame, Wisconsin and a number of other programs. That's been my experience first hand.

On vacation out west this week. Amazing how few African Americans you see out here. That is why you see so few black athletes on some teams in the MWC compared to the south. Simply less of them in their geographic area. All that being said, I am encouraged the current staff does not have a Stereotype approach in their recruiting philosophy. I just want the best players we can possibly get that will represent us well. Race and everything else is immaterial.

Awfully excited to get this kid. To be greedy, anyone know how big the parents are? Just wondering if he is done growing? I wouldn't mind him being another Elfrid and put on a few inches and pounds while here.

I don't know where you are at on Vacation Mike, but there is no shortage of Black athletes in large urban areas on the West Coast or Midwest, Vegas, Denver, Seattle , Kansas City, etc; now other areas do not have a large minority population. But there is no shortage of black athletes available to the programs I mentioned. The coaches in those programs look for the best fit, system and academics, and not skin color.

Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho for week. Rainy day today cut short some of our activities. Encouraged that our current staff appears to be looking for the things you mentioned in your post.
