Re: G9 Final: Louisiana 16 Troy 26
I'm really hoping that the staff knows that the remaining teams on our schedule are going to both do what Troy and ASU did which is load up on the run and make us pass to beat them. It makes it especially tough when every team knows that Nunez will absolutely not keep the ball and be a threat on the ground.

Come on, the #3 if that's what they were, can't score one TD......

He absolutely is afraid to run it. Even on the pass play where he rolled to his left and had acres to run for the first down easily plus some, he literally stopped and gave the defender being blocked time to get off the block and tackle him. Completely unacceptable. We have to make changes with our offensive scheme when we have a QB that is no threat to actually read the play and make decisions accordingly. I know many people don't want to hear criticism of the coaching staff but that has been one of my main issues this season. Calais had 8 carries for a whopping yards because we tried to run him like we do Ragas which was right into the heart of the defense. We finally run a sweep left and he gets 9 yards. Get him to the outside. Just things like that we need to improve on.

He scored a TD vs Arkansas State when he kept the ball. Kid just needs to fall forward for the extra yard when a tackler comes up as he is not athletic enough to fake anyone out. Yesterday he could have run for a first down but stopped to see if he could go downfield. Not his best day of decision making. At home against weak defenses, he has shown he is capable of completing enough passes to keep the defense honest. That is especially true when Elijah Mitchell is available to help keep the chains moving off the swing passes. Our receivers are also much more likely to get separation vs the teams we have remaining to play vs the one we played yesterday. I expect the entire offense to bounce back next week.

Keep in mind that at least one and perhaps both of our HS QB commitments will graduate early and enroll in school in January. That will enable them to participate in spring ball which may allow them to see playing time come the 2019 season.

This was very telling of the game Nunez had yesterday. A chance to move the chains and we whiffed. Calais did the same on another play. He ran out before the sticks.
While the defense was bad in the 1st half they still kept us in position to win. Those little mistakes make the difference.
Offense has to do their part. 3 points is unacceptable.

The "egg" simply refers to points scored and shape of the numeral.

Unless we bring in another Juco, I will be shocked if our starting QB next season isn't Gibson or one of the HS guys, and either way it goes, we will be just fine.
