Yet, to everyone's point, he's clearly falling short as a head coach.
The logic simply doesn't connect.
Geezus. If he wasn't even a great assistant to take with him, then he damn sure wasn't gonna be a great head coach. But Ill be damned if we didnt hire him to be one. The logic is lost on you.

That's not what you said. You said that if he was "ready and qualified" (to be a head coach), Napier would have taken him to Florida. Nice try.

Understood…mine was to the larger group as well.
Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. USM
How do we know Napier didn’t ask Dez to come with him? We really don’t know the sequence of events. Dez has young kids, maybe he wants them to grow up near their grandparents.
That doesn’t mean he should have been made head coach, but I really don’t think we can read much into him not going be an assistant for Napier.

Once he was hired, do any of you actually think the administration cared one bit what the reaction from a few posters in ragin pagin was? Do y’all think we could have changed their minds? Come on.
No but the empty seats should have been a sign to them

Unfortunately, the Cajun Dome has been empty for 10 years, and Martin Hall hasn't cared.

Hollywood should make a movie. "One of the best offensive minds in all of football goes completely unnoticed and his greatness never realized." I swear, on days like today, I want what some of yall are smoking.
Probably could have gotten Cook for $500k with many years of head coach experience.

LoL. Ok my guy. Let's try again. If he was ready and qualified to be a head coach, then Napier still would have tried to bring him to Florida. He wasnt qualified for a coach OR coordinator. However you wanna twist that argument, the point is still lost on you. It's Ok. Take your time and think on it.

Someone posed a really good question on the pod last night. Two years ago, what other FBS program would have hired Des as a head coach?
I don't think anyone reading this forum can name one program. Now, this is not a shot at Des at all. But it is a very good question.

Not a bad point, though I don't even know who needed a coach two seasons ago. And to be fair, would other programs even know who he was? If you're not hired because someone doesn't know you exist, that's different than if a bunch of schools are looking at your resume and think you're unqualified.

No one would have hired him as coordinator
Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. USM
Ron Roberts left Louisiana and went to Baylor. He was there three seasons and got fired. How long did it take him to find a job? About two weeks. Hugh Freeze hired him to be Auburn's defensive coordinator.
Most of our coaches will get snapped up just as quickly when we fire them next month. They couldn't get it done here, but they will get it done somewhere else. Wish them luck!
