If you are talking about the numbers, letters and/or symbols, I too was under the impression they were to be painted. The striping on the other hand I am not sure but I think they too were painted.
I am pumped about the field as it is one more step to getting this program where it needs to be.
Louisiana will now have 2 turf fields with an 4" arch and 2 grass fields with an 18" arch. This will help UL to better prepare for teams with either surface and will also help with recruiting. High schools will be able to play games at Cajun Field and not mess up the field on Thursday or Friday nights thus allowing our coaches to better recruit the Acadiana area if their coaches choose to play at Cajun Field.

It looks like scrap pieces of turf to me. If it was painted it would not have such square edges.
