So according to this http://www.neworleansbowl.org/superdome/seating/ we get less "school seating" sections than the C-USA team.

I hope UL takes over the town.
Don't know if you're refering to the goat references, but I don't remember any of UL's student body being accused of "Goat love" This definitely means they have more class than any of WKU's student body. In other words shout out to the guys in the Peppa Pit, Etc. If you see anyone sneaking around campus with goats, sheep, chickens, or any other livestock kick their butt's off the school grounds & call the law immediately.
I wonder If Coach Hud has an incentive plan in his contract with extra moolah paid for bowl appearances.
A great location for the first Annual BESTIALITY BOWL!!!! lol
I have a hard time comparing this occasion to the other major mens sports' post seasons.
I would compare our football program finishing the year in the top 20 (and whatever bowl that achieves) as comparable to the 2000 CWS appearance. That compares to making the Sweet 16 in basketball. I think our 2000 CWS accomplishment tops all others in major men's sports.
One problem with football is that you simply don't... and never will... have the parity in athletes that you can still have in basketball... and baseball. I think baseball is the easiest to accomplish parity... mainly in that so many of the elite pitchers get snatched up before they make it to college. In football, it is extremely difficult... with the money imbalance... to achieve the parity necessary.
Another problem is that it is one bowl and done. The other sports actually allow you to start off in a playoff... at a much lower rung... and attempt to climb that ladder. In football, you end the season at some point in the ranking... and the bowl is it. You can't really say that this bowl appearance compares to x level in the NCAA basketball tourney... or x level in the baseball tournament. You get to advance if you win. This bowl is one and done.
I'm just excited about being in a bowl. And since football drives that athletic bus... all UL sports now have a lot more competent driver.
I'll be shocked if we don't sell out those seats AND MORE. .~..~..~.
Right now it's the biggest atheletic accomplishment in school history. Why? Because it's the most recent biggest hill to climb that's never been climbed before by the school. Next, It should be whatever great accomplishment which ever sport accomplishes, that it has never accomplished before. That's the great thing about comparative analysis. One can use whatever prism to look through to make comparrisons that they desire.
All valid points.
New question: What is your excitement level about the bowl invite in comparison to the CWS, winning an NCAA basketball tourney game, and the WCWS?
I'd say:
1. CWS
2. Bowl game
3. Basketball tourney win
4. WCWS (and again, kudos to the ladies and the Lotiefs for making that one not so surprising anymore)
Yeah, they have never sold out a Sugar Bowl or BCS championship game at the Superdome before so they don't know what they are doing in NOLA for any college football games.
It's UL's first trip to a bowl game in 41 years and you might not go if you can't sit in an aisle seat???
C'MON MAN!!!
Stay at home and watch it on TV then!!!
I would agree with this ranking although I am having a hard time with 3 and 4. I think I would have them switched.
