Re: From the Bird's Nest: Celebrate today..........
Great article Jay, it was good to hear Troy's voice last night. He sounded like he wanted to jump out of his own skin. He has waited a long time for this...and I'm glad he got to stick around to see it happen. This is why you support YOUR university, win or lose. For all those that took part in the struggle...1 million thank you's.

Potential recruits should be encouraged to read this so as they can get a little bit of a feel for what it means to be a Ragin Cajun. By the way, I talked to one of the assistant coaches who was here for part of the Bustle years. I told him that many people recognize that Coach Bustle contributed to the progress and made yesterday possible. His response was he thinks Coach Bustle knows that. David Walker is another that deserves more credit as he was able to bring pride and respect to the people who work in athletic administration. Now, in today's world many programs get to bowl games. To really turn the perception of your program around, you have to win that game. Let's get ready to help the team go do just that.

Your thought process may have been better than mine ... I chose the Hyatt so I would be able to find my hotel after the game. The way all this is shaping up already, when we celebrate after the game, I may not make it back to the room!

Re: Video from New Orleans Bowl Invitation Pep Rally
Brock thank you so much, I was working, driving, and recording but I missed the start of Troy Wingerter's "Our Day" speech.
Nice editing, well done.

Re: WKU fans not happy about our bowl invite lol
WKU will get the invite Saturday evening to the GoatDaddy.com Bowl. It's being held in Bhaaa County, West Virginia.

I thought of BJ Landry. As a player, he was a daily reminder to me of what it was to live with pride in this program. I can guarantee that Beej was doing a little dance in heaven yesterday.

Interesting article about Bowl game payouts
This article is a year old, but it illustrates the importance of purchasing New Orleans Bowl game tickets directly from UL's ticket office. It becomes clear that the fans need to participate in the Bowl experience "Big Time" in order for their school to be in the Black after expenses. Let's get after it "Cajun Fans"!!!!!

Re: Interesting article about Bowl game payouts
Thanks
I wonder how much UL will save, being able to bus to New Orleans?

Heck...I think I've enjoyed reading some of these comments as much as I did reading the article itself.

The Mid-American Conference had negotiated an agreement with the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl where their school’s payout was based solely on how many tickets it could sell, Ohio University Associate Athletic Director Dan Hauser said in an interview.
The Athens, Ohio, school received 10,000 tickets valued at $450,000. It sold 2,181 tickets, generating $98,150, for a game in Detroit about 278 miles north, at 1 p.m. the day after Christmas.
Since its expenses were $164,464, the school lost $66,314 playing in the game, according to university records.
“There was a cost, but this is our business,” Hauser said. “We’re about getting kids to the postseason in every sport, men’s and women’s. And they all cost money.”
I hope the New Orleans Bowl gives UL more tickets than 10,000.

Thank you Jay. Im a long way from Cajun land tonight and that was a great way to get connected back home. That is one great article.

Re: From the Bird's Nest: Celebrate today..........
Love the article Jay. It really brings it home to reflect on those who so loved the Cajuns and will join us in New Orleans in spirit only. I hope this is especially sweet for those that contributed so much of their heart, energy and time in the many tough years leading up to this. The old and the new join together as one big Cajun family to celebrate this momentous occasion. How sweet it is.

Re: WKU fans not happy about our bowl invite lol
Interesting ulm board some are crying and moaning about UL going to new Orleans Ark state fans are whining about hotel prices in mobile and wkenticky fans seem to rralize that they could not bring enough fans and that is why they are still waiting. And we know how difficult it can be to wait for a bowl bid

Uh... Where are these seats?
Section GNAD14
Row GA9
Seat 1700
These aren't the ones I bought (haven't bought any yet, still waiting on some friends to confirm), but this is a sample of the seats listed. GNAD I assume means General Admisson. This does not correspond with the seating chart for the Saints games. Anyone know the deal here?

They have already allocated nearly 15,000 tickets. We will get whatever we need.

It would be good if the Advertiser ran a detailed article explaining the bowl "payout" and the importance of buying tickets through UL.

No clue but you might want to start considering supplemental oxygen.

Something similar listed when I bought my tickets (deposit). Its just a general numbering system. No seats are assigned yet. That is the "phone call" we are all waiting for.
