Re: Steve Hale to address Cajun Nation on 103.7FM today at 6 pm
After hearing Steve Hale...it's apparent why the man was left out in the cold. He ain't comfy. Savior and Farmer are so comfy...you gotta shake em just to make sure they are still alive. People were converted last night...and more seed planters from the Cox building showed up. We have to press on...but if this turns out to be another shot below the belt...I wonder how many of us will be broken? How many will stop fighting? Maybe that was their whole point in this endeavor. Getting us to fall head over heels for the real thing...and then yank the rug out from under us while they laugh at us on the radio. I want this program to reach their potential. With Savoie...he is going to have to be drug kicking and screaming into it.

Very impressive resume and man. Mr. Hale's resume demonstrate how much relationships matter. Thanks for providing this background info.

At the time he made that statement the Senior Associate AD position was open because Ken Winstead had departed. He and his wife love the Acadiana area and its culture and are very familiar with the area. Both of their children were born here while he was a member of the Ragin Cajun Football Staff
He is a former Division FBS Coach and former CEO of a 501c3 organization and currently working for a National Media management company based in New York City.
Steve has 15 years in Coaching for the following Football programs and their Head Coaches
East Carolina University, Pat Dye; Clemson University, Danny Ford; University of Alabama, Paul Bear Bryant and Ray Perkins; UL, Nelson Stokley; USM, Curley Hollman and Jeff Bower. He was the Recruiting Coordinator at Alabama, UL and USM.
He spent 19 years as President and CEO of the Mobile Arts and Sports Association (DBA Senior Bowl, LLC). While there he acquired a large number of connections & working relationships were developed with all Division FBS/FCS Football playing Conferences and their Commissioners, the NFL and its affiliated clubs and all national media entities and sports apparel corporations. He was responsible for the management and financial Health of this 501c3 organization which required STRATEGIC PLANNING, DIVERSE METHODS OF FUNDRAISING and SPONSORSHIP DEVELOPMENT. He also oversaw MARKETING STRATEGIES, ADVERTISING and MEDIA RELATIONS.
In cooperation with the City of Mobile Civic Leaders he oversaw the funding and planning of CAPITAL PROJECTS.
This man took a Bowl game dead in the water and about to fold…on the verge of bankruptcy, and turned it into a multimillion dollar annual product that at the end of his tenure other Cities were bidding to host.
Now if everything that I have posted so far isn't fundraising then what in the Hell is????
At present he is Vice President of Football the Football Division of Headline Media Management. His relationships with high profile coaches, sports media personalities, collegiate conferences and all other major sports broadcast networks led to the CEO of Headline Media to approach him about founding a football division for Headline Media
Steve Hale has stated to the RCAF interview Committee that he would like the opportunity to share his vision with them by providing the resources necessary for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and it's Student Athletes to compete at the highest level. Remember, this man was asked to apply for this position and was told that he would get "his day" in front of the committee. They are aware that he would be glad to serve in a support capacity. Why? The City, the Culture and the fact that he relishes the challenge of bringing this University to the Athletic level that he has always believed it deserves. As of right now after flirting with this man it appears that he won't even get an interview? Why?
A question his wife asked me, "do they know how great they can be"? well?
No further comment from me.

His interview was impressive, I agree. He has a lot of experience and influence, apparently. Before, during or after, was he asked his salary requirements?

Not on the air last night, but they are known and have been stated several times here on RP.

Frustrating indeed. On the one hand this whole thing seems absolutely bizarre, on the other, logical, based on the accepted principal of protecting the privacy of those who have applied and made the final cut.
I'll continue to withhold judgment until more "official" information is forthcoming. That's about all I can do at this point. It would be interesting though if those who are close to Mr. Hale could get his input on what the heck is going on, off-the-record, of course.
