Way to go!!!!
Very nice, where are you and your brother from? You should be proud of him. What a great picture they captured. Brings chills to my spine. Congrats!

MIAMI, Fla. — Florida International pitcher Derek DeCarlo found the form of his first two years here Saturday, much to the chagrin of UL Lafayette.
The Ragin’ Cajuns were stifled for nine innings by the Golden Panther junior righthander, who twirled a five-hitter and fanned 10 in leading FIU to an 8-1 victory and a 2-0 lead in their Sun Belt Conference baseball series.
DeCarlo (3-8) was 11-0 as a freshman two years ago and finished 6-0 with four saves last season before struggling through this season’s first two months. On Saturday, though, he faced one over the minimum through five innings and allowed only two Cajuns to advance past second base.
“He threw a great game,” said Cajun coach Tony Robichaux. “He threw with guts and conviction and he energized his club behind him.”

The Cajuns (24-14, 9-5 Sun Belt) had dropped a 3-2 decision to the Golden Panthers (23-22, 8-3) on Friday on Brian Aragon’s ninth-inning walk-off homer, and Saturday’s loss assured UL Lafayette of its first league series loss of the season. The teams wrap up the series at noon today at FIU.
“Any time you come off a win like last night,” Robichaux said Saturday, “it lets you come out with emotion, and that’s what they did. All we can do is cut our losses and salvage this thing and not get swept.”
The Panthers got all the runs they needed in the second inning when Michael Lopez doubled off the center-field wall and scored on a rundown play behind him following Luis Rivera’s single. Dennis Diaz’ double plated Rivera and Diaz scored on P.J. Lehmann’s single off Cajun starter Ian Pecoraro (3-2).
Pecoraro allowed 10 hits and six earned runs in six innings while striking out eight, and righted himself after the second inning and allowed only a Yema leadoff home run in the fifth inning before FIU exploded in the seventh.
Diaz led off the inning with a home run, and two Cajun errors and Adrian Casanova’s two-run single off reliever Jeff Morgan highlighted a four-run frame that put it out of reach.
“He (Pecoraro) gave us an opportunity to win,” Robichaux said. “We made mistakes in the second inning and let that one get away from us when we had a chance not to give up the three-run inning.”
The Cajuns didn’t mount a serious threat until the sixth inning when Josh Landry’s single put runners at first and third, and finally scored off DeCarlo in the eighth when Micah Cockrell doubled and scored on pinch hitter Brad Saloom’s single through the right side. Those were the Cajuns’ only two hits in the final three innings.
“You’ve got to be able to swing it, and DeCarlo overmatched our hitters,” Robichaux said. “In the last 17 innings we’ve only pushed across one run, and that’s not good enough.”
Junior righthander Jered Salazar (3-2) is scheduled to pitch for the Cajuns in today’s series finale against FIU lefthander David Asher (1-3).

We are from the Lafayette area. My dad played semi-pro ball and umpired hs and college for 30 years. My oldest brother is currently an umpire. Chris coached legion and now is with the Cajuns, and I worked for the UL Baseball team for five years while in school.
I guess it's in the genes. =)
Way to go Coach Domingue! Your efforts are appreciated all around.
I missed seeing that picture in the paper. I am sure my parents missed the picture also. I know they would have showed me.
Cajuns1 - I know who you are but I dont know you very well. I have been knowing Chris for quite a few years not & everyone who I have met in the family are great people. Just to let you know who I am, my dad plays guitar for Jambalaya Cajun Band. If that doesnt ring a bell, Chris will let you know exactly who I am.
Acually, I do remember you vaguely. I know your sister... she and my niece were friends when they were younger.
It's good to hear from you. Be sure to find be at the ballpark one day and introduce yourself!
Yep my sister is the "well" know one in our family. Everyone remember's her & her curly hair.
