I wonder if the birds were listening when the cheerleading squad used their horns? Maybe JayBird heard the calling?

A long layoff plus coming off an injury account for the rust last night.
He is the most NFL ready per Coach Lege. Everything from his mind set, work ethic, nutrition, study, etc.

Nailed it.

That’s 6 bad passes, if you don’t include the two poorly thrown balls that were dropped.
Re: injured Northwestern player
NWST released a statement saying no significant injuries

Good because it looked pretty bad.

Like Rainman I'm thinking this had more to do with the situation and just testing options than an actual gameplan we would utilize in a competitive game.
Ok. So first, several of those runs over 5 yards were in complete garbage time where second units were in for both. Second, that still leaves literally half of your runs averaged around 3.5 yards per carry with an enormous line and major talent advantage. I mean, if you watch that game we had trouble sustaining drives not only because we passed poorly but also because we got behind the chains a lot.
If what you saw last night tells you that we will be able to put those types of numbers up on the better teams on our schedule we will definitely disagree. I know the end numbers look ok but watching us continuously get stuffed on inside runs was troubling.

I hope the slant route gets put into the offense next week.
They threw the slant to Broussard and it was incomplete. Good coverage on play.
Re: injured Northwestern player
Watched the replay. Jax and the defender were locked up and stumbled down simultaneously. Didn’t look like the defender got all of Jax’s weight on him. More side by side.

The deeper slant is my favorite play. To Neal on a LB preferably

Of the attempts made by our RB’s 12/28 rushing attempts went for less than 5 yards. That’s 16 attempts of five or greater. Of the 28 attempts we only had 3 that went for no gain or a loss including the fumble by Perry.
If we get to 35 Carrie’s next game and only have 3 negative runs by our RBs I’ll be a happy camper.

. . . Louisiana has lots of happy campers now, but they don’t post here . . .
