Yes.
I remember we'll, because back at a time when my thought process was that Louisiana should be jumping ship (in an effort to stand out from the conference availability crowd) UL brass were leading the charge to implement a poison pill buyout clause.

Yea, but no bearing on whether a team wants to stay in a conference

Re: Texas State to Mountain West
It'll be interesting to see how the TV money plays out for the new MWC and PAC. The strong university brands that propped these conferences up are gone. If I'm Texas State, I'd be hesitant to make a move that is going to raise my travel costs significantly without a clear picture of future television revenue.

Re: Texas State to Mountain West
One of my sons has a “source” tight with Texas State saying PAC-12 offer is forthcoming. Hmmmm …
Edit: source is a significant $ donor on the academic side. Guess we’ll know if that holds water soon enough.

UTEP to MWC
Gonzaga to Pac 10

Both make sense.

Both conferences still needs one more full time FB member

Tarleton State to MWC soon.

@RossDellenger
The Mountain West has held deep and serious discussions with FCS Tarleton State, sources tell @YahooSports. MWC needs one more full member to qualify as a conference.Talks between the Texas-based FCS school and the conference have progressed.

Re: Texas State to Mountain West
Mountain West now talking with FCS member Tarleton State. May be a sign that TXST is staying in the Belt with the MWC only needing one more member.

Texas State is lobbying super hard right now for a PAC invite. They might get it.

Re: Texas State to Mountain West
Texas State’s rival *utsa** (IYK,YK) leaving CDOA for MWC. MWC apparently not waiting while Texas State may be pulling a Tech…we’ll get back with you Gloria while we wait on a better offer.

UTSA is not in CDOA. They are in AAC.

Re: Texas State to Mountain West
Since UTEP is leaving CDOA that leaves them with 9 members. Not a good number to have. Looks like CDOA is on hospice care again!

Delaware and Missouri State are on their way. They'll have 11.

UNLV and Air Force will not be in the MWC for very long. No way those 2 schools stick around to be in WAC 3.0
MWC will have no choice but to invite NMSU and maybe even Sam Houston.

UNLV and AFA are staying MW because they're going to split 55% of the revenue.

Yep, and they'll leave as soon as the check clears.

Thanks. Lost track, I cross them up with UTEP a lot.
It befuddles me this owes that one and that one owes this one, PAC and MWC. Just kiss and get married. I know, follow the money. They’re having a “measuring contest” where there won’t be a winner.

Just seems like we're not going to see overall conference stability again. A smaller conference is attractive whereas it sets you up to play your conference every year. However in this current TV network driven environment its understandable how its motivating conferences to become aggressive with expansion.

They can expand all they want, there will be another separation coming by reclassification. Oregon St and Washington State can claim the mantle of P5 today, but they will be on the outside looking in. There will be a number of Big12 and ACC programs left out once that happens. At that point, the rest of us will be left in what will qualify as the G5.
