Not disagreeing here, but given she was named interim HC that may have been a consideration. And, yes, if Coach Habetz wanted to check other options she should be given that right, but would hope she would give Shelly a chance to interview as well.

I would be shocked if Dr. Maggard put restrictions of any type in his attempts to bring a new coach aboard.

Great hire. Kudos to maggard and all those that made this work.

Kudos also to whomever put up season tickets and NIL information right after. Strike while the iron is hot.

Holy moly. I get off a 3 hour flight and immediately feel great.

For all the crap we (myself included) gives our promotion/marketing folks, that was perfectly timed.

Couldn’t ask for a better hire. All smiles all around.

No reason we should have unsold seats in the grandstand prior to opening day. The least most on here should do is buy a general admission seat. Help us get back to OKC and support our program.

If I remember right she had to file suit to be allowed to play boys baseball at her high school since there was no softball team at the school.

So we know she's a fighter.

I don't follow Softball as much as many of you, but I can see this is a tremendous hire. I give credit to Dr. Maggard on this and can't wait to see what Coach Habetz is able to do. UL could not have hired a more decorated and experienced coach than this, imo. Congrats to Coach Habetz, Geaux Cajuns!

Yes and then after college played for a pro baseball team made up of women. Coaches/organized by phil neikro. Dont think they had a league just one team, in old days they would have been called barnstormers. Colorado silver bullets(?)
