Depends if you ever want to be on TV again. With no ESPN or other major network deal you got no platform to air your games. Sure we could stream on YouTube like D2 does but that will be seen by no one. We would never be on espn2 espnU or espn+ again unless we are the visitors of a school with a TV deal.
Plus I am sure that there are by laws in the conference that says all members have to follow the conference plan on TV deals and you can’t have everyone going in different directions.

If the admin were knocking it out of the park there would be a lot less complaints. The fact is they aren’t.
If I were Keith Gill I would ask ESPN to move towards in game commercials that are Picture in Picture. Just like soccer uses. That would speed up the game and would create a better in person experience.
The university could improve in many areas as well.

AT&T sucks, apparently. My kids complain when they're at the stadium, and have for years. I use T-Mobile's network. Don't have that problem. Their network is better everywhere except in the basin and the marsh. It's newer, it's faster, it's more powerful. The legacy carriers have backhaul issues. Or so I am told. Too many subscribers, not enough capacity.

The boat of opportunity has sailed but hypothetically speaking if you schedule tough enough, most of the road games will be televised
Re: Butch Calls out A State fans and Students...
All teams and games should have the same timing rules and time out rules regardless of broadcast medium, and regardless of fan preference.
Re: Butch Calls out A State fans and Students...
Does anyone remember the super regional in softball at Arizona state. It seemed as if every half inning there was some commotion about when the inning would start problems with war up pitches, etc. For whatever reason We were not "in tune" to the process and "new" timing rules set by espn and the opponent (home team) was, and it gave them a huge advantage

Or would Keith gill need to find a way to get someone else to ask espn on his behalf

Either way, knocking off one hour of run time would be huge in pace of play.

It is too late for the independant gravy train though. The super conferences going to 9 games makes going independant almost impossible.
It was just going to be a pitt stop any way.
Lol. A lot chang3d in a month or so? Lmao
So what is the over under on future indy takes?

Does not matter how tough. All conferences have some kind of TV deal. More than likely your road opponents will be in one of them.

To put a true number on that I would have to know what the value of a commercial is. One football game equals a 3 hr commercial for the university. Multiply that by every football, basketball, baseball, and softball game on the espn network. Then you add conference revenue sharing.

The in game commercials is a great idea. I think the length of games keeps plenty of people away. Too much dead time between plays is a major excitement killer. It seems to be worse in the SBC where reviews from the booth are way too common. College should follow the NFL rule where challenges come from coaches. Turnovers and scores should be the only exceptions. Those simple changes could chop a half hour from game time.
