Here are some of their bigger losses over the last few decades.
2017 Troy
2000 UAB
1994 USM (I was at that game with a USM friend)
1992 Colorado State
1986 Miami of Ohio
1980 Rice
1979 FSU (Bobby Bowden was starting to win at FSU, and had been picked as LSU's next coach; this win convinced him to stay at FSU)*
1977 Indiana
Are they due this year? GA State is catching them between Florida, and A&M. Could be a trap game.
*Bowden was supposed to go to Marshall in 1969, but stayed at WVU; in 1970 the Marshall airplane tragedy occurred. He was supposed to go to LSU in 1979, and Bo Rein died in a plane crash while recruiting in 1980.
That is very eerie about the plane crashes.
I was also at the 79 FSU game, one of the 2 or 3 I have ever attended. A friend of mine who was a former punter for Miss State invited me. We both enjoyed watching the bad team lose.

I've always wondered what components of the LSU upset convinced Bowden to stay at FSU. Certainly, the fight in his players, and the realization that he could win from anywhere, were factors.
But did the LSU fans at the game play a role? Over the years, I have heard many stories about how those boys & girls have shot themselves in the foot with their mouths (visualize that mixed metaphor... that requires some impressive skills with the chaw), athletically, academically, politically.
Which perhaps is where Tech learned the unfortunate behavior.
But ask yourself, if LSU had been a true leader, and treated the other schools as fellow institutions, would we all detest them so much? Would we all be so hell-bent on beating them? Would we have accomplished what we have with our growth, our facilities, our academics, our athletics?
One of the last things you want to say to a Cajun or Creole is, "Oh, you'll never be as good as we are." People here don't forget, and we are very, very patient. Think about it: we have been working on this revenge for 125 years.
And we ain't done yet.

Thinking about Bobby? No, he's retired.
I am, however, still thinking about LSU. It's important for Louisiana supporters to understand how we manage to surpass LSU in area after area, so that we can continue to focus on the rich opportunities.
And that's why the history is important. Because so far, the Tiger hasn't shown the least interest in changing his stripes.

He’s not just retired. He’s no longer living.
