He did lead the team in catches and yards in 2021 up until the bowl game that he did not play in due to injury. He is no doubt not used correctly with his speed but that is Leger and Des’ fault not his. Napier through to him deep every game this group didn’t for some reason. If you think Iowa state is the only deep pass he’s ever caught you haven’t been watching. Go back to his freshman year in the ship at App and start there. There’s plenty. This group preferred to throw into triple coverage to the same guy over and over rather than throw to other receivers, this year, for some reason.

I really like what we've seen so far from Bernard and Cambre. I think we are going to be just fine at WR.

Bernard is a reliable option, but Cambre is still unproven. Neither has top-end talent. LeBlanc, Legendre, Johnson and Broussard for sure have huge upsides, just a question if they, AND the coaching staff, can tap into it.

The first step in tapping into talent is working on their hands. There were a lot of dropped passes this season.

That is disingenuous at best and only a snippit of a much MUCH bigger problem. A generated, self fixable, PR buzz problem.
When a national search for head basketball coach lead to Glynn Cyprien it was announced that Robert Lee came in second.
There was a lot of interest generated.
When Cyprien was exposed as a fraud Louisiana was able to quickly promote Robert Lee no questions asked because he was legit and properly vetted.
If they had just promoted Robert Lee when Evans left without a search it would have been a program interest killer.
Basically what you have now.
A public national search would have given Michael Desormeaux instant credibility, as opposed to the derision you showed him early on.

The last sentence.

Ok, fair enough.
A public national search would have drawn interest simply from people being drawn to the outcome. Much like what happens in sports.
Much like what happens in spring practice. Interest in who will get the helm in March, sells tickets in September.
Michael Desormeaux's name in the mix would have drawn much interest from Iberia Parish. Ten times more interest than him just being named head coach. Instant credibility,
The lack of a public search contributed to your shock at him being named head coach.
Besides, more than the fanbase tuning in, the search would have been mentioned nationwide.
Example: "Who will take over for a program on a 12 game winning streak? Stay tuned, Michael Desormeaux has been named interim head coach for the second time. Some say he is a frontrunner."
A national search would have prepared you for the outcome. while at the same time we will never know who was interested but needed more than a week to decide.

The Bird prepared each and everyone of you for that outcome . . .

I stated Mike would be the next head coach before CBN even left. Me and T-Boy were told by CRS that Mike would be the next coach. I even had a poster on this site that wanted to bet me 10K that Mike wouldn't be the next coach. He is glad I don't bet.
