Yes very different situations. Not one person who left made a backwards or lateral move. They all bettered their situation with opportunities UL couldn’t match. Not a Des issue at all. Happens every where. Nothing anyone can do to stop them. It’s a part of the business and no need to panic.

Did Maggard say he hired Dez so he wouldn't lose coaches or players to other jobs or to the portal? He said he hired him to maintain the culture. The point of a culture is that you can replace people who don't want to be here with those that do, as long as you hire and recruit to the culture you are building.

Sunshine pumpers?

I’m going to go about it this way. The situation is similar to a guest priest I had at a Manressa retreat. He told us about a debate he had with an atheist. After much debate he told the atheist that the priest would never know he was wrong, and conversely the atheist would never know he was right.

We’re not in a similar situation with CMD except we know his detractors can never know if they would be right regardless of CMD success or failure. It’s time to support, and support isn’t sunshine pumping until and if everyone his projected failure occurs. Even (if) it occurs nobody knows if getting coaches X Y Z would have had a better outcome, and the pumpers would still have to say give him more time.

The events currently surrounding Louisiana football were 100% predictable.

Im sorry. Did I say i didnt expect this? Did I ask why is this happening? Did I blame Des? The answer to all of these is NO. No I didnt. Ive stated this several times in this thread. I understand why this is happening. For the 100th time.....
It sucks that its happening. And when will the bleeding stop. Pretty simple. Im not sure why some of you are trying to explain the reason. I know from a coroners report why my cousin died last week. It didnt make me less upset. Its not rocket surgery.

Can someone can be optimistic without being called a "sunshine pumper"? Frankly, no one knows what will happen during the Desormeaux era, but we do know that a lot of pieces are in place to still be very competitive. The continuous doom and gloom predictions by you are starting to become really stale. We get it, folk have left. Some of us will wait and see what happens. Beating this dead horse in the ground is doing no good.

First off, if you couldnt read into my sarcasm in my post, im sorry. But frankly, its no different than anytime someone has ANY type of criticism, they are "doom and gloom". So that sword cuts both ways. Also, the horse isnt dead, we're still losing coaches. Im allowed to be upset about it.

One positive thing to come out of this, at least for me, is no one will be able to say Dez did x,y,z with Napier's players/staff.

Because it's CDM's staff now and he and Tim probably recruited half of the team.

I'm excited for the future.
