Re: Recruiting: Robichaux's Press Cconference & Radio Show
Scouting is not recruiting.
Recruiting implies contact.
Contact has strong restrictions.

11.01.6 Coach, Volunteer. [A]
(a) The individual is prohibited from contacting and evaluating prospective student-athletes off campus or from
scouting opponents off campus and may not perform recruiting coordination functions (see Bylaw 11.7.2).
Evaluating = Scouting. As a mid major, I'm not touching that with a ten foot pole. But hell, maybe we get put on probation and have another excuse for our mediocrity.

It is all covered very specifically in the NCAA Bylaws manual. If the manual is wrong, I am sure a school emissary will be along soon to correct the interpretation. If not, well.....

Notice "contacting AND evaluating" is lumped together.
It does not say "contacting OR evaluating."
"Contacting" is the key thread word throughout all the recruiting restrictions.
The "Scouting your opponent" prohibition is specific which serves to highlight the vast difference.

11.7.5.2 Off-Campus Contact and Evaluation of Prospective Student-Athletes. [FCS]
Only those coaches who are counted by the institution within the numerical limitations on head and assistant coaches may contact or evaluate prospective student-athletes off campus. (Revised: 4/28/05 effective 8/1/05, 1/19/13 effective 8/1/13)
Hopefully, there is a misunderstanding.
Re: Recruiting: Robichaux's Press Cconference & Radio Show
Anyone who is suggesting Robe has cheated needs to stick his head in a toilet bowl and flush.

"and" in the header requires a coupling of events.
"or" in the paragraph is worrisome.

I'd be absolutely shocked if this really was a issue.

No one would even be questioning any of it if Tony didn't say that having 3 full time recruiters was helping things. The question at hand is who is the 3rd full time recruiter if Robe doesn't recruit and Freeman/Bab/Domingue are not allowed to recruit off campus?

We are not cheating.
Thank you. I didn't think we were. Just trying to figure it out.

Folks...safety minute of the day....always remember to wear your proper PPE when grinding items...for example: axes...
Re: Recruiting: Robichaux's Press Cconference & Radio Show
The man has been coaching 25-30 years and has never had a violation placed on him or his team. Do you really think that would happen now?

I'm pretty sure as an volunteer coach Freeman is not allowed to do off campus recruiting, so unless he's talking to recruits during their on-campus visit you have an issue.
EDIT: Sorry, I should have read the whole thread before replying.

To be completely honest, no I did not think we were cheating. There had to be a reason that no one seemed to know or want to share. Another possibility was that Robe misspoke or exaggerated something. Valid question in the current state of the program and constant excuses about why this program is underachieving.
Re: Recruiting: Robichaux's Press Cconference & Radio Show
All I can say is that if I’m going to cheat, it will be to WIN.

I'm not in the camp that Robe is cheating. But if he's not just giving lip service to those of you who will believe whatever bull____ comes out of his mouth, then the only other explanation is breaking recruiting rules.
If you ain't cheatin you ain't tryin.

Chill MAT. TTMW informed all of us that we ain't cheatin ! It's all good LOL
I respect the fact that we have standards in this program. I am all about pushing for excellence and holding people accountable.
But this is getting ridiculous. Can we pump the brakes a little...

Lots of things need to be flushed, not sure it is any fans head. We have some games to win.
Re: Recruiting: Robichaux's Press Conference & Radio Show
If we gunna cheat, I hope we'd at least have a winning record.....:) If we did cheat I doubt anybody cares.
