Re: MBB G4 Final: Louisiana 91, Colorado State 73
Colorado State was a good matchup for us. We had the significant athletic advantage. Kudos for making the most of it by the coaching staff and players.
Glad Tulane won and want to face them in two days !!!

May be our only chance to play the Wave for a while as there doesn't appear to be anything in the works for a home & home. When was the last time we played them in basketball?
Of course, both teams have business to take care of before that can happen.
Toledo up 53-34 with 15:31 left in the game.

Yes, looking like Toledo. They're up 73-50 with 7:36 to play in the game.

Last time we played Tulane was in December of 2010 which was Coach Marlin's first year. We lost to them in New Orleans. Year before we lost to them in Lafayette after having a lead in the second half. That was Coach Lee's last year in Lafayette. They signed the home and home in Coach Lee's tenure. I imagine they felt our program was in a decline at that point so they felt safe signing the deal. They have not had any interest in renewing the series regardless of their coach since Coach Marlin has been here. Both Louisiana schools have tough games tomorrow so no guarantee Cajuns and Wave match up here.

Not taking anything away from our Cajuns but didn't realize they were so bad.
I don't think rankings mean anything at this stage with so few games played. Below 250 or above is not relevant without enough games being played to have the program work properly. That ranking of around 250 was due to their schedule in all likelihood and the fact they have played nothing but home games prior to today. Colorado State Rams were 3 and 0 prior to today so it was a good win. Tomorrow will be a challenge as Toledo was in the NCAA tournament a year ago. The MAC is also in the basketball portion of the country so the sport means something there.

The Mac programs averaged about 700 more fans per game than the Belt....Toledo does alright averaging a little over 6,000....

We did ... and we played a press a lot of the game and even used a zone some. These guys looked good on defense for most of the game and that was with quite a few guys playing.

With there being constant conflicts with the women, you should download the Hot 107.9 app on your phone It works better than radio pup.
All men's games will be on HOT. Only a dozen or so will be on 1420.
And, HOT is 100,000 watts and you can get it well past Baton Rouge going east and to LC going west.
Vegas has the Cajuns as a 2 1/2 point favorite tonight and honestly, I don't see it. Toledo is VERY good. They shoot lights out (.429 from 3, 81% FT, .495 overall) and are big and can rebound.
I personally view us as an underdog in this game.

Boomer has trouble catching 107.9 clearly because he lives at the foot of the 105.1 tower. For some reason 105.1 interfers.
So close yet the app is probably the best option there as well.

Last year was really good in those aspects. Frank Bartley made a living with his cutting to the basket and getting to the rim as a result.

Someone at the tournament texted me with a similar scouting report on Toledo that Willis just shared. They are long as well as big. In addition to that they are athletic. No wonder they have good rebounding and shooting stats. It will be a big challenge for the Cajuns tonight. There is an old saying however which has become one of my favorites. It is simply "With Great Challenge comes Great Opportunity".

In spite of my critique of the Big Fish, Cajuns are always expected to win by me. Cajuns outdo these Yankee snowbirds

Bottom line...these are the types of games and tournaments the Cajuns have to win. It’s hard to say you are making progress when you lose games like this.

Tulane had a 5 or 6 point lead on the UC Irvine Anteaters with 2 minutes to go in the half, but at halftime it's tied 25 all.

Excited for game tonight. Sounds like a formidable challenge, which is good at this stage in the season. And hopefully a good RPI game in long run

Would be a nice victory. Just warning people it will not be easy. How we respond at crunch time if the game is tight will be interesting to follow. How mentally tough are the Cajuns is a question we are waiting to find out. That determines how successful you are.

On the SBC board a Toledo fan gave an analysis of their team as well. It pretty much agrees with this, but he is concerned because he feels their defense is soft and/or lacking in toughness.
