Cement structure was what I was told early on.
Re: How will this effect baseball?
With boom-bust market conditions, always come lots of drama, which I hope is all this amounts to.

With that said, today at the Diamond Club Meeting, Tony stated that the steel has already been ordered for the stadium and he has been working on some of the final details. He said that the Lemoine Company would begin working on the stadium the week following this years Super Regionals. They would not give them permission to start prior to then in case we needed the use of the stadium.
It sounds like unless something drastic were to occur in the next few weeks, the stadium will be built! We all need to just relax and enjoy the rest of the season!
For the record, I don't think anyone here is making accusations of guilt or trying to ruin anyone's reputation. We're discussing an actual lawsuit that has been filed by a publicly-traded company with the defendants named, potential illegalities, dollar damages, and the mechanism for the offenses all laid out in the suit.
While these individuals certainly have their right to their day in court, since this information is now in the public domain (the court of public opinion) and pertains to an individual who we have been told is a key part of a project that is near and dear to our hearts, there is absolutely nothing wrong with discussing the magnitude of the charges, the legal process, and how it all might affect the final outcome we so desire.
Tony's comments today at the Diamond Club meeting certainly sound encouraging.

Exactly. However, for now, this is civil case and as such there is no guilt involved. This is an attempt by the plaintiff to recover alleged damages inflicted upon them by the defendant. Regardless of the eventual outcome of the case, the defendant will have to expend time and money in is defense. Given the magnitude of the alleged damages, he could easily spend $1,000,000.00 in attorney fees and court costs. This could get to be a very expensive situation should the courts find in favor of the plaintiff. This could take years for this case to eventually come to a conclusion. All in all, I would not want to be a defendant in this situation.

I would not want a butt hurt $2.4 billion corp coming after me.

Allegations of corporate officers violating their fiduciary duty to a publicly traded company are almost certain to spark an investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission. And one would surely expect the Federal Bureau of Investigation to come calling as well.

My hope and prayers are that the Russo family comes out of this well, they are good folks. But if anyone is taking this lightly, they had better get their head out of the sand. Baker & Hostetler is one of the top law firms in the country and they don't lose many cases. No CDS here, just reality.
Re: How will this effect baseball?
Well if Russo and company are innocent, then it's sad that they will have to spend a fortune vindicating themselves. But if, and its a big if, Russo and company did steal money from Superior Energy then we have no business taking some of that money. Yes without question Robe deserves a new stadium but not with ill-gotten money. We all have to wait and see how this plays out. At present its a civil matter and that could take years to play out.

Here's a more in depth article of the whole situation. We do work for Superior and we did some work for Renegade.
Without saying someone is guilty, I'll tell you this. It all makes sense now....

I would also like to know if Superior had a full bore Financial Statement Audit done on Stabil Drill before Consolidation? An extra set of eyes would have caught this. I know for a fact that audit statutes call for a vendor list showing concentrations of where the company is spending there money. Again this may have all been lost in Consolidation. Don't skimp on accounting...it can save your ___.

Superior aquired Stabil Drill long before these other companies were established. This has only been going on for about 8 years.

Makes even more sense, that they created it after the sale to Superior. Boy howdy...that does not look good. It even sets up motive for the scheme...standard of living. That one time sale made life pretty fun. I've never been rich, but I would think taking a step down money wise would suck something fierce. This sucks...on so many levels.

To be kind to Farmer he's a lightweight and not up to his Job in the 21st century. He may have been OK in 1976, but the job since musical conferences is so much bigger.
