Re: FAU vs Louisiana game thread
I agree with most posters. Coach Lee is one of the nicest people I've ever met. I hope for the best and really didn't want to give up on him. I was hoping he would be one of those coaches that stick with us for years and brought us multiple conference titles. Unfortunately that's not the case. It's time for him to go. Being that I would rather not see him get fired, I hope he resigns.

He is a very nice guy. He just didn't get it right this time. Hopefully there will be another time and place for Coach Lee.

I'm throwing Dennis Felton out there. He's going to fly under the radar and I would love to see him here.

I'm not a big basketball person although if the Cajuns are good I can get into it. This is the most dreadful season in my memory. What was the worst season?

Sorry, but the answer is the 1994-95 team that went 7-22. Wins came against Texas Wesleyan, LC, Louisiana Tech, Jacksonville, A-State and Lamar (twice).
Although this year is shaping up to trump that season.

They were 7 and 19 in 1995. The year previously they were in the NCAA's.

Pretty sure they went 7-22 in 1995, I was still there.
The year before we went 22-8 and lost to Marquette in St. Pete. 1994-95 was supposed to be a promising season with lots of young talent (Manuel, Price, Bowman, Poole) replacing guys like Byron Starks and Michael Allen. But the team had the worst shooting season in school history (.402 FG percentage) and lost a lot of close games early in the season.
The biggest difference between the current team and the 1995 team is that the 1995 team was very inexperienced on the court and definitely got better as their careers progressed. I don't know if you can say the same about the current group.

You are correct, the 1995 team went 7 and 22. I remember a 7 and 19 team however, That may have been the 1976 team, first year after probation.

Yeah, we were talking in the office the other night about what Cajun season has been the worst in history and those were the two we came up with. I was only three years old for the 1976 season, but I do understand how frustrating that season was for Cajun fans accustomed to winning and winning big.
