the game is the game, no if’s ands or buts . . .

The Napier era and Des era are not the same. Billy didn't have to worry about the transfer portal nor NIL. Michael has had those issues since he was named head coach. And Billy isn't exactly setting the water on fire in Gainsville Florida. Saying he has his back up against the wall is an understatement.
Re: Recruiting: ULM vs. Louisiana Football
Building a roster is now year to year and the quicker everyone involved learns that, the better. It’s no longer about developing a roster with high school kids bc you will no longer benefit if you succeed.
Go out and build your roster year to year. Loyalty is out the window and let’s be honest, there was never loyalty. I see tons of former players rocking purple and gold, loyalty has always been an illusion.

And Napier did not have to worry about his leaving head coach poaching the lions share of his talent as he departed. People need to just quit trying to lay the Napier standard on CMD. Their respective issues and what each has to deal with are as different as apples and oranges.

What got the guy from JMU to transfer to TX State? JMU was on a run last season where they were in discussions of a NY6 Bowl, or should have been in the discussion except for some silly rule.
Is there some TX State alumni/donors suddenly ponying up big money to make their program a SBC Champ contender?
I was always worried that if TX State ever really got serious with athletics, that us and other middle to lesser funded SBC programs could be in trouble. They are smack dab in the middle of the College Station-Austin-San Antonio "triangle" that probably is hurting them a bit, especially with UTSA's recent success.
However, they have a university President who is VERY serious about the Bobcats becoming successful athletically, especially in football. He's made it clear he won't accept mediocrity. We're about to see how that plays out for them.

How many players have transferred to Louisiana in these sports?
I tried to find it but i know we do it specially in the diamond sports.
On this year's Softball team, two starting position players [Brooke Ellestad, Sam Roe] and three pitchers [Sam Ryan, Denali Loecker and Lexie Delbrey] came via the portal. We generally have 2-5 girls transfer in and 1-3 transfer out. Softball is an elite program and is not quite as vulnerable as other sports here. At least not yet.

Their knuckle-dragging AD stepped down that's what happened.
