Re: Napier throws down attendance challenge...
There's almost 600K residents in the core Acadiana parishes surrounding Lafayette. Counting the SWLA parishes around LC area that's another 300K. It still surprises me how many kids in LC do one year at McNeese then transfer to UL to complete their undergraduate studies. We should promote UL Athletics and more in LC-SWLA like for example the upcoming coaches caravan. Winning coupled with a consistent regional, annual marketing effort can't hurt.

Take advantage? I don't consider paying for Softball and Baseball tickets for my family, which I would not have purchased otherwise, as "taking advantage".
Dosen't matter. It seems from the write up on this day that this will just be a glorified practice and not a real Spring game.

"Take advantage" in the same way you will do things on vacation that you would never do back home simply because you find yourself in a unique "on location" timely situation.
Re: Napier throws down attendance challenge...
Many schools are having problems with fielding 2 competitive teams for a spring game. Maybe its time to have a modified spring game against another team. Crowds would be bigger and give everyone a real taste of football in the spring. Bad weather up North. I think many Northern teams would enjoy a few practices and a modified game in warmer weather.

Thinking outside the hash marks.

It's all in how you sell it.
Even the Yankees travel south in the spring.
Northerners will do anything for a Spring Break.
In 1917 The Cincinnati Reds scrimmaged against the Cajuns, here.

You want to raise money for the RCAF? You want to pack the stadium for TV?
Scrimmage McNeese.
