Do you know where Patrick went Mike? He also recruited their big guy, one and done with the 6'ers; could be a short leash on lsu coach now without that level of talent coming in.

I agree. I was just saying that his words seem to have been prompted by what he says the coaches told him.

I believe David Patrick is at TCU but am not certain of that.

For once in a long time, I'd like to see this program exceed expectations rather than fall short of them. I'd also welcome a league title which is a very strong sign of consistency which we haven't had either. Its not that people are as negative of the program as they are tired of being fed a nugget of goodness to then be fed a diet of crap.
On the signing, it is a great get for this program but we still have to sign him. Lets get it done.

The kid seems to be a little full of himself. He claims here that he will be the starting 2 guard as a freshman and sophmore then transition to the 1 as a Junior and Senior. I wonder if Frank Bartley and Marcus Stroman have been informed that one of them will be watching him play from the bench next year?
Well, we know that Marlin would never promise anybody anything without them having to earn it on the court so I'm sure that this has been relayed to him quite clearly. However, if he's that good and can outplay some of the other guards we have, so be it.

When this guy was committed to LSU, he was a 4 star. Once he dropped that commitment and started considering non TV schools, he became a 3 star. His junior year performance was strong so that drop does not make much sense other than to illustrate the inconsistency of the "star" process.
Re: Big Basketball Recruit
Just need to sign a kid or two as highly rated every class.

Let us not forget many here give BobbyBigFish credit for spotting and securing a lottery pick. We had a lottery pick, and a guy who signed an NBA contract barely missing the cut. We still ended up third in the conference race. No doubt EP did an epic job of securing two near miraculous wins to get to the NCAA, and we were competitive in that NCAA game. That is the only time Marlin has done anything with talent.

Actually, he hasn't done anything with the talent yet.....

Tomorrow is the first day of the early signing period so we will see if we can close the deal. This will be a poor year if we don't exceed expectations as we have been picked 7th in a 12 team league. That aside, I understand the view that this season is one which will build towards the next. We only have one senior and many young players will gain experience. That should help next year when the three transfers and the highly rated recruit come on board. I have heard other fans voice that opinion and I buy into it to some degree. Now, I am sure the coaches and players are not thinking that way. They need to focus on having success this season and I am sure they are.
