I was wondering if they would try the Cajundome. By the looks of this they aren't trying to be too big playing at arenas no bigger than 7,000 capacity.
We'll see how it works out. These leagues seem to come and geaux pretty quickly. Hopefully someone can make it a success. _
I live in Lake Charles and the Swashbucklers regulary had 3,000 people in the Civic Center. I feel the tickets are overpriced but it is a fun fast paced game. It was amazing to me that we could field better teams than Katy and Frisco which had the Houston area and Dallas area to draw from. I think you will enjoy it. Your team needs to get lessons from the LC owner Tom Hofer he has done a great job marketing the team here.

Sorry I don't know who acarte3 is. You have the wrong person. I am using my ID assigned by my company to identify others with a similar name.
Indoor Football Coming to Lafayette

The New Orleans Voodoo folded in October, and now the Arena Football League is ready to cancel what would have been its 23rd season in 2009.
But there is another brand of indoor gridiron action coming to Lafayette in the spring. The Southern Indoor Football League is headed this way, with the newly minted Acadiana Mudbugs ready to put on helmets and pads.

The Mudbugs will play their home games at Blackham Coliseum starting in April as a part of the six-team league. The SIFL is regional with squads in Lake Charles and Houma. There will also be teams in Austin, Houston and Pasadena, Texas.
The Ragin’ Cajuns season has ended and high school action wraps up this weekend, but with the Mudbugs, you'll get a football fix long before next fall.

Nice but just a note; anyone who uses the term "MudBugs" is not from here.

My only problem is the ticket prices. Their wanting 18.50 a ticket, that's just too much for someone wanting to take a family out there.
Re: Indoor Football Coming to Lafayette
Notice how the font and logo are very similar to the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs hockey team... Wish they could have been a bit more original with the football team name...

Re: Indoor Football Coming to Lafayette
Former Cajuns who might be on the team WR Kemmie Lewis, DT Michael Moore, and DT Kendrick Haynes. As for the prices if true $18.50 is very high $10.00-$12.00 would be better.

Heres the link to the ticket prices...

I would definitely be down for 10-12$, 18 is a bit steep, but I'm glad that Kemmie Lewis would be playing because I really liked how he played as a cajun.
Acctually, my bad,its acctually 20$ a ticket plus all the little fees. 20$ for one game is gonna be a hard sell.
Re: Indoor Football Coming to Lafayette
This can't possibly succeed. In what way can these owners think that this is a good way to invest their dollars.

Not at $20 per ticket. $10 for kids 5 and under. Kids 5 and under should be free! I will never attend a game at that price.
Re: Indoor Football Coming to Lafayette
$18.50 + $1.50 fee....the mud bugs will fold after a couple of season. When the owner of the Icegators started to raise the prices attendance started to go down from 11,800 to maybe 2,500. They had five dollar seats for their games. $20 for a family of four. They got greedy and things start to fall apart...$20, I think not.....
