You're right. Volunteers doing the mowing and trimming is ridiculous. Lets have a cake sale so we can pay the freaking coaches.

Total baloney.

It's a social event. I've volunteered maybe 5-6 times and it has always been a total blast to be out there with Cajun fans spending the day doing something worthwhile. And it makes me feel good too.

Food's always been great as well.

I'm ready to do it again anytime.

hammer hit the nail on the head. none of these things will happen soon w/o caf. it all starts with a centralized funding mechanism that we need to feed and nurture. then we can set about taking care of things on this wish list. and i agree with what everyone thinks needs doing. a very good wish list.

1. CAF formation
2. Athletic dorm improvements (Like everyone else, I agree that we need overall improvement in campus housing conditions)
3. Baseball renovations (field, pressbox, etc.)
4. Softball expansion / renovations
5. Football skybox complex

I think football stadium cleaning takes first priority. We need that stadium to match the turf. This will be done with existing budget.

I'd like to see the new baseball field built and the present "Tigue" location converted for the softball team. I hope all the rumors we've been hearing about donors making this a reality come to fruition in the next week or so, so this shouldn't impact the maintenance we need done at Cajun Field and the surrounding complex grounds.

I think your missing his point. It's not that people don't want to volunteer, and it's not that people don't enjoy doing it. His point is that it's pathetic that the university does not have enough pride in the facilities to actively keep them up.

Here's what I responded to -

He doesn't volunteer. I do and plenty of others do so as well and it's great. I feel very positive about it.

And at least we're doing something.

My top 3:

1. Pressure wash and seal the entire stadium.
2. ONCE AND FOR ALL: THE RAGIN' CAJUN ATHLETIC FOUNDATION!!!
3. Build the NEW Tigue Moore field and renovate the old one for softball.
