I currently pay 200 a seat and would gladly pay 300. What about the real issue at hand... student assesment fee's. What kind of political miracle's would we need to pull off to make that happen?

You hit that nail square on the head!
We need to start a political campaign to get this changed! I believe we are the ONLY state (definetly only in the Sun Belt) that does not allow for athletic student fees ... that allows for a HUGE disparity in funds and it doesn't take much to guess why we have this in the first place.
You aren't a good "leader" if the only way you get better is to suffocate those around you!
It is time for us to get this changed!
5$ per ticket per game for 6 home games would give us $600,000 to work with if the attendance stays at 20k per game without counting students. Darn nice raise and a little contengency.
Now you're seeing the big picture! Just say it was $10 more ... that extra $600k (in addition to yours) would go a long way towards eliminating one of the "rent a games" - that will help improve our record which in turn helps attract more fans to the home games.
Someone help, I'm stuck in a never ending cycle and can't get out!
Geeze, I paid 100 per ticket for seats on the 50 in DD. Im ripping the university off. You want to not have these problems in the future? Pony up. I'd pay 150-200 per seat if asked.
You wanna stay small time...keep thinking like it.

not aiming this at you moorecajun...just a general statement made by yours truly.
This is coming from someone who doesn't have the means to buy season tickets: I should not have been able to walk up to the Ticket office at 3:30pm on the Friday before a Saturday game vs. Troy - at that time the biggest game (possibly) in the history of our program - and pay $24.00 for a 40 yard line seat about 10 rows up. Raise the ticket prices, pay the coach, continue to win, get in the top 25, and leave those who "won't" pay more behind.
Oh I know you weren't aiming at me, and if you were, I ducked! I'd pay 150-200 per seat as well if asked. But I would also be happy with an annual increase in prices so that the people not as fortunate as we are are not scared off.
I fully expect our season ticket holders to maybe increase by 150% next year. I think it is more important to swell that number at this point than to increase the amount of the ticket.
Meaning: 1 existing season ticket holder X $150 = $150.
1 existing season ticket holder + 1 new season ticket holder X $110 = $220.
It is probably not that important, but there is a law of diminishing returns; at some point the ticket price will not justify the purchase. I know we are nowhere near that price but I would like to get to it over say, a span of 2-3 years, not overnight. I would like our season ticket holder numbers to be closer to 20k than 10k first!
Just my thoughts.
Maybe go up just an extra $5/ticket for students. Think about it. Most college students are poor. We want them to continue coming to the games, we want more than this past year, and we want them LOUD!
Like the other poster stated, an extra $5/ticket for 6 home games with an average of 20k attendance/game comes out to an extra $600k. You would would raise more than that, because I think you could reasonably tack on an extra $10/ticket for non-students.
Students get in free already
