78-72 final with NCS getting a layup at the buzzer. Very good effort from the Cajuns. I'm very proud of the job this team has done after the embarrassment at KU and the loss of Orien Greene. With the slow start tonight (didn't score for the first 5 or 6 minutes), the team easily could have folded. But they showed big-time character fighting back to take the lead and giving the Wolfpack all they could handle tonight. Great job, guys! Good luck the rest of the season.
:p :p :p :p :p

I for one thought it was going to be a one sided affair. How wrong I was, and I will take my butt kicking like a man!! Way to go Cajuns.
I have renewed hope, ..O.. ..O.. ..O..

See you guy's Monday night! Be loud and Proud!.~.

RALEIGH - N.C. State got an unexpected scare last night but was still able to remain undefeated with a 78-72 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette at the RBC Center.
The Wolfpack suffered through a night of offensive futility and trailed at halftime, but endured and eventually made enough plays to pull out the game in the final 10 minutes.
Freshman Andrew Brackman provided the spark, coming off the bench to score a season-high 20 points. He also had four rebounds and three blocked shots.
The win moved State, ranked 12th in the AP poll, to 8-0 overall, while Louisiana-Lafayette fell to 3-5.
Brackman, a 6-10, 205-pound freshman from Cincinnati, also made several key defensive plays.
His one-handed rebound dunk of a miss by Ilian Evtimov gave State the lead for good at 49-48 with 10:28 remaining, and started a 7-0 spurt that allowed State to take control.
State went on to lead by as many as eight from there.
But Louisiana-Lafayette fought back and got as close as two at 74-72 before Cameron Bennerman's two free throws with 6.9 seconds left pushed the lead back to four, and then Tony Bethel's layup at the buzzer pushed the final margin to six.
Tiras Wade led Louisiana-Lafayette with 37 points, an RBC Center record.
Julius Hodge added 16 points, five rebounds and five assists for State, and Bethel scored 14.
Louisiana-Lafayette led 28-23 at halftime, marking the first time all season the Wolfpack has trailed at the half.
State scored the first eight points of the game, and held the Ragin Cajuns scoreless on their first eight possessions. Louisiana-Lafayette's first points didn't come until 14:10 was left in the first half on a 3-point shot by Ross Mouton.

State went on to lead 12-3 at one point. But Wade heated up later in the half and the Wolfpack went ice cold. Louisiana-Lafayette went on a 9-0 burst to take thee lead at 19-16, then scored the last six points of the half to lead by five at the break.
Wade had 16 points at intermission, while Hodge led State with nine. The Wolfpack shot 30 percent from the field in the half, was 1 of 11 from 3-point range, and committed 10 turnovers.
State had outscored its opponents by an average of 17 points in its first seven games.
State beat Louisiana-Lafayette in the first round of the NCAA Tournament last spring in Orlando, 61-52. Marcus Melvin was State's leading scorer in that game with 20 points, and Hodge had 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The Wolfpack's 7-0 start coming into the game matched the longest winning streak in Coach Herb Sendek's nine seasons here. It was also one of the fastest starts in school history; the 1972-73 team that finished 27-0 heads the list, followed by the 1981-82 team (9-0 start), and the 1974-75 and 1975-76 teams (8-0 starts).
The Wolfpack was coming off a 94-60 win against Liberty on Saturday afternoon, when Hodge put on a dominant performance with 27 points, nine rebounds and nine assists.
Hodge was the team's leading scorer coming into last night's game, averaging 19.4 ppg. Jordan Collins was second in scoring at 10.4, followed by Cameron Bennerman at 9.9, Tony Bethel at 8.4, Ilian Evtimov at 8.1 and Levi Watkins at 7.4. Hodge was also the leading rebounder at 7.4, and the assist leader at 6.1.
The Ragin Cajuns were blown out at Kansas 96-51 on Saturday.
Wade was the team's leading scorer coming into the game at 17.7. Orien Greene, who did not play last night because of an injury, was second in scoring at 13.1, and Brian Hamilton came into the game averaging 11.6 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
State will head West next on a two-game road trip, with a game at Washington on Sunday night and a game at Brigham Young next Tuesday.

UNC State did have some good things to say about us... not many though but here is one i got off their site:
"It's a shame Lafayette doesn't have the athletes to play all game with us, because they are far better coached. Of course, who isn't?"
That was said right before halftime last night!

I am not much on moral victories. To me it doesn't prove anything, other than it is a loss. In this particular case we at least showed some intensity, and an ability to play defense. We out rebounded a good ACC team, which is a plus. Does it mean that we will be successful the remainder of the season? If we continue to play like we did against NC State, the answer is yes! We will see if this progression continues Monday night. The team will need our support. LET'S PACK THE DOME to show OUR team that they still have our support. If we do this it will go a long way to a winning season, a, hopefully, Conference championship, and a NCAA tournament berth...O.. ..O.. ..O..
