Bears first round pick Tommie Harris won't meet most of his new teammates until this weekend's minicamp, he already has been welcomed into the Bears' family by Tillman, a fellow Texan. "Peanut" was a one-man welcome wagon on draft day.
"I know Peanut," Harris said. "We played against each other in high school. My high school always dominated his. Peanut is a great guy. He came over to the house and fit right in with the family. When he first saw me, he gave me a hug.
"We never talked like that before, but he just greeted me and called me 'teammate' and all the other stuff. So I'm looking forward to being out there with him on the field, going to battle with him.
"Peanut lit up my whole house with his personality. He stayed for hours just talking to everybody and having everybody laugh, so my mom feels real comfortable about him."
Thanks to Tillman's enthusiasm and energy, Harris is eagerly awaiting the challenge of contributing to a new team and fitting into a new environment.
"Charles told me it's a great city," Harris said. "He said it loves football. He told me that everybody I meet, just say, 'Beat the Packers,' and they're supposed to go wild or something. So I found a way to greet people." LINK

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Center Treynell Clavelle and guard Amber Long will be transferred from LSU, coach Pokey Chatman announced Thursday.
Clavelle averaged 3.7 points and 3.3 rebounds in 10 minutes per game. She scored a career-high 11 points in LSU's victory over No. 1 seed Texas in the NCAA regional semifinal and contributed a career-best nine rebounds in the SEC tournament second-round victory over Ole Miss.
"It is difficult to part ways with a player the caliber of Treynell," Chatman said. "She made significant contributions when called upon. Her performance in the Sweet 16 against Texas comes to mind. Taylor's defensive playbook wasn't dictionary-thick at Lafayette. He played cornerback for one season opposite Charles Tillman, who, like Taylor, was a 2003 draft pick. With Taylor and Tillman -- the Bears' second-round selection -- on the corners, Lafayette kept it simple.
"The playbook was probably a couple of pages," Taylor said. "We played a couple of half-field (coverages), a little Cover 2.
