Buried in the sands of time. Too bad though. Was nothing like bringing someone to a "steak restaurant" located in a run down warehouse building where your choices were steak or steak and one of the finest wine list in the world. Who would have thought you could go in a place like that and order a 5K bottle of wine? Not that I ever did.

Good, I went there a few years ago, and the portion was very small for the price. We looked around and noticed the average age of customers was like 75, and figured that is why the portions were smaller. Looking forward to a revitalized Don's downtown.
Re: Places to eat in Lafayette.
Just downtown you have Don's, Agave, Tsunami, Bonzai, Guamas, Pamploma Tapas, Filling Station, Bonnie Bells (was T-Coons :( ), and Dwyers. Legends isn't really a restaurant, but the Annex serves some really good burgers, and wraps. So it is a very lively epicurean scene downtown alone, much less the rest of the city.

My reason for responding to the other poster was the hope the restaurant had re-opened somewhere. I would have been there tonight iif it were.
My first meal @ Stroud's was when they were located under the big oak tree in the curve just before getting into Abbeville. Then they located to the building across Kaliste Saloom Road from Randol's. Then to the building on Industrial Parkway. Now, unfortunately, closed.
I don't want to take this thread away from the initial inquiry, but a restaurant that reminds me of Stroud's in terms of the quality of the steak, the friendliness of the staff, and the reasonableness of the price is Hebert's in Nunez.

You now also have The French Press between Agave and the fire station, right across from Don's in the former Tribune printing press. Basically New Orleans style sandwiches, etc. Good eating!
FYI, they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Re: Places to eat in Lafayette.
Thanks to all. No shortage of places to munch in Lafayette. I will be hitting the festival Saturday and then maybe one of the eateries mentioned.
