Until there is a true all inclusive playoff system, does it really matter? The committee can just pick a "national champion" and forgo the games being played.

There’s no set criteria. Even with 5 “power conferences” there are only 4 available spots. So even an undefeated P5 champ gets left out because people are choosing who they think should be national champs. It’s silly.
