Hayden was at 2nd. Elkins hit a line drive up the middle. The center fielder fielded it off a hop and thew a strike to home. Hayden didn't have a chance.

Not saying you are incorrect, but neither the announcers on TV nor Stevie P caught that and no where on TV was that apparent. But if a pitch was called illegal, that would make sense.

It was a shot to center by Elkins. The ball was already in the outfield by the time the runner took off. Probably should have held her at 3rd. However, even with the shot, it still took a perfect throw to home to get her. And it was a perfect throw.
