A lot of that has to do with the pitiful weight room and terribly understaffed strength and conditioning staff. IMO each program should have their own full time strength coach, football has Phillips, men and women basketball need someone full time, softball and baseball need a full time guy and Track needs a full time guy as well. Each of these sports require drastically different weight training regimens and they do not receive the proper training needed to compete and stay healthy IMO. _
I totally agree and have heard the same complaints from athletes in the "other" sports.
