Not that the hitter's grandmother is listening in Houston Texas and that the hitter is the grandmother's 17th grandchild and that the grandmother holds a special place in her heart for said player because she loves her grandmother's homemade apple pie because it's just like the apple pie Stevie gets at the Dairy Queen in Vidor, Texas, which is the best Dairy Queen on the planet because it has a red fomica counter and customers can she the banana splits as they're being made with bananas, not from America, but from South America because that's where 20 million pounds are produced each year. Here's the pitch...strike two. Now, back to those bananas....

Pretty soon it will be "That was a 12 yard Bob's Pastry running play resulting in a Tom's Car Wash 1st down which puts them in the Orthopedic Medical Hospital Red Zone where they will attempt to score a Ralph's Fruit Stand Touchdown and then a T-Boys Boudin and Gas Station Extra Point. All of this in the Steve's Shoe Shine and Purse Polishing second quarter just before the Bubba's Bar and Grill two minute warning followed by the Crazy Dave's Fireworks halftime show. But we pause now for a word from our sponsers........!!!
Re: Enough already, Stevie P.!
A certain school in Louisiana has AT&T walks on their radio broadcast....
Re: Enough already, Stevie P.!
i guess the thing that really chaps my _ss is the fact that we are always fed the same tired old faces and voices on sports broadcasts in this town. If it's tv, then it must be don allen, dan macdonald, or jay walker. if it's radio, then it must be jay walker or steve pelican. and don't feed me the "personality" garbage. i don't tune in even to nfl games for the announcers. there has been this incestuous relationship among the sports media in this town for a long time. it's got a bush-league vibe to it that is unfortunate. i know we're not a major media market, but i think we have some fresh talent out there we could utilize. rant off.

Re: Enough already, Stevie P.!
Well, you can only take so much Stivie P in one sitting and it is best served when the team is not losing. He constantly talks to the audience as though they have absolutely zero knowledge of the game of softball, or even baseball. We all know almost zero listeners to a softball game fall into this category. Sorry Stevie I do not need softball 101 every inning every pitch.
I chuckled about one of his first and favorite comments, the one you guys know a good at bat even if you do not get a hit. In the first inning, the Michigan pitcher gets a strike out on about five pitches, and then an out on three. He wanted to talk about a good at bat, and said it was. Nine pitches two outs, how is that a good at bat? That pitcher dominated your first two batters, but it fit the game plan for the stinkin genius.

The other is having to hear, "another Spedale's Florist First Down". I listened to the basketball game last night for a few minutes and was very sorry to hear that Spedale's Florist has now crept into the basketball broadcast. Suffice it to say, I didn't by my girlfriend's Valentine roses from Spedale's.
Personally, I support ANY business that backs UL Athletics in any way that I can.:)
