Matt Moss Expected to Transfer
True freshman forward Matt Moss is expected to transfer from UL, a Ragin' Cajuns spokesman said Monday night.
UL SID Brian McCann said Cajuns basketball coach Bob Marlin had not yet spoken with Moss, who did not practice with the team Sunday or Monday
Re: Matt Moss Expected to Transfer
The article says he was homesick. Hmmm? I thought that his cajun career was etched in stone as they roll into a new BB era. I guess you can say: Moss doesn't grow on a rolling stone.
Re: Matt Moss Expected to Transfer
So the young man leaves home for a year to play in North Carolina at a prep school, and does not sign with a school closer to his home like McNutt U for example. Instead signs with UL. Homesick seems like a BS comment to me. HE was indeed homesick for NoWhere Louisiana to do what?
I do not mean to sound like he was unhappy with Marlin, I just mean to think homesick was only the smallest reason he will transfer. The guy is an adult, and already long gone from home. How many of you guys from a small rural community were dying to get back to mom after getting to a major college city? Not too many I bet?

Players who leave mid-semester either fail their classes or withdraw and receive no credit. They are deemed no longer in good academic standing and hurt the program’s APR.

He didn't leave mid-semester. He is still here currently, likely finishing up this semester so we have no idea how he's done in school but it would be a major mistake on his part not to finish the semester out wherever he is so is in good standing for the school he wishes to attend.

The semester is over. Finished last week. Grades are in as well.
I believe what 81 was saying was that players like Raymone and JJ who leave mid semester can hurt the APR if they don't stay and finish their classes here. I don't believe Matt is in that category as he basically said he wanted to transfer as soon as the semester was over.
