Re: From the Bird's Nest: Celebrate today..........
Yes --I was wondering what it was--that extra pop in the step--but I have to admit that last evening the eyes did have some moisture of joy as I held my wife and thought of our UL times---She asked if the kids could go home for Thanksgiving day and I reminded her of the time she fed the players a thanksgiving meal before a post T-giving game that we won as huge under dogs---Wow Tempus Fugit!!!!
Re: N.O. Bowl Hotels: Where are you staying?
yesterday Astor Crowne still had some bowl rate room left
Re: From the Bird's Nest: Celebrate today..........
You really knocked it out of the park.
You forgot the volunteers who put in thousands of hours sprucing up Cajun Field when funds were low. It was really hot work but I loved it.

I'm positive he is in heaven with a huge smile on his face (as always) enjoying this moment with all the former Ragin Cajuns who are no longer with us.

I'll be in the Sheraton on canal!

That is so true.

Jay...once again crying at one of your articles...great job. (I've been thinking alot about Charlie too and how happy he would be)
Re: Cajuns, New Orleans Bowl both celebrating
"UL unveiled its bowl-game promotional logo_–_a “Paint the Quarter Red” poster next to New Orleans’ traditional Bourbon Street road sign – at the moment that Valteau issued the official bid."
I would have liked to see "Occupy Bourbon Street"!!
Re: From the Bird's Nest: Celebrate today..........
Great list.
On the personal side I have a couple
Ann and Calvin.
Some of those years were lonely in the upper deck. Sitting there staring down at the brown barely painted field trying to
get the number of the bus that hit us.

You're right. Bad oversight on my part.
Re: WKU fans not happy about our bowl invite lol
Its our time. We have faithful fans have grown over the past few years. We are regionally by far the best fit for the New Orleans Bowl. WKU can be upset that they are being "passed over" for us but they should understand the circumstances.
Video from New Orleans Bowl Invitation Pep Rally
I took some video with my camera last night from the awesome Pep Rally for our invitation to the New Orleans Bowl. I didn't get to catch everything, and it's a little shaky sometimes (I was holding my camera above my head and I don't do nearly enough pushups), but I got the important stuff. Can't wait to Paint the Quarter Red!

Re: From the Bird's Nest: Celebrate today..........
GREAT ARTICLE Jay! This is one that I would love to have printed and mounted as a keepsake for many years.
Dont worry, we have many Cajun Fans smiling down on the program from the heaven above.
LSU's Drew Alleman shows the Cajuns some love on FB!
He posted this on the KATC FB status about the GMA show this morning:
"Will have to go check out the home town University play in New Orleans and watch the cousin dance for the Cajuns if I get the chance. Finally they get the chance to prove their excellence. Congrats again and Geaux Cajuns."
Very nice!
Re: From the Bird's Nest: Celebrate today..........
I've been a lifelong fan and season ticket holder of both the Saints and the Cajuns.... Over 40 years for both....I lived to see the seemingly impossible for the Saints.... I was in Baton Rouge 40 years ago and will be in Nawlins on Dec 17 to see what seemingly was impossible for the Cajuns.....
I have to admit I was misty eyed last night when the New Orleans Bowl dude did his rope thing and at the end was... at long long LONG last a bowl invitation..... Great night and well done by the university....
Now lets win it...................................................
