I called Marriott first...The block of tics for the N.O. bowl sold out... I'll be across the street at the Sheraton.. Go Cajuns!
Wyhndam.
Finally, after so many years of waiting, after many years of bad football, after many times of coming close, yesterday was the day for which Cajuns’ fans, myself included, had waited.

I appreciate y'all looking up airfare for me, but since I live in Dallas my airfare is only $250-$400 depending upon carrier.
Latest information is that a trade is being worked discussed. La Tech to the Ticket City bowl in Dallas depending upon CUSA. Sounds like the Big 10 rep is going to be Purdue.
Good luck in New Orleans.
Great post, sir!
Favorite article ever. So many memories
Awesome, Jay.
Great piece. Enjoyed all the names you brought up. (Justin's comment was funny...true...but funny)
Turns out, there were a lot of people holding onto that rope...just waiting for Coach Hud to get here.
great article, I want a link to that highlight video they played last night. That was an awesome video!!
This is the kind of thing people like myself need to be reminded of. There are only so many opportunities to appreciate those who gave, REALLY GAVE, when times were the toughest. Thanks Jay.
Playing in Dallas as opposed to San Diego would be great for Tech. That would probably mean one less Blue Tarp y'all would have to pack up and carry on the road!
As far as New Orleans is concerned, the Cresent City has long been hailed as one of the best cities to hoast any sporting event, as is verified by the record number of Super Bowls held there as well as NCAA Regional's and Final Four's, Sugar Bowls, etc... The New Orleans Bowl, played in the world class Superdome, in a city that likes to party, is just something UL fans will have to settle for. Tech fans can enjoy driving around in Dallas and enjoy the world class weather that Dallas usually experiences in late December and early January. Don't forget to back your big hunting jacket to get the most out of that experience.
Good Luck in San Diego, Dallas or Boise!!!!
I think it would be great if Rickey found himself on the sidelines watching these seniors play. It was time for a change but he deserves a chance to enjoy this moment as well.
I loved the part where you included Rickey Bustle. Without him, we would not be here!!!
Come on Jay---The Jews suffered 40 years and the Cajuns 41---A great line which will be envied/copied by many in your field covering the Cajun Bowling---This print version rivals your unforgettable audio of the Cajun baseballers getting to go to Omaha---Now CALL US A WIN!!!!!!!
Anyone else have this extra pop in their step? This extra wide grin on their face? Anyone else thinking about that highlight film from last night? Anyone else remember the game against ULM Nov 21, 2009? The rainy weather... the win!
So many memories going through my head today. Wow.. sitting back and enjoying the day.. savoring the moment. I can't wait for December 17th...
Astor Crown Plaza as well. Sounds like quite a few Cajun fans staying there, can't wait! I booked about a month ago for only Saturday, but now I'm calling to see about the whole weekend
Rickey Bustle is far from being the worst thing that ever happened here at UL. Although it was time for a change, we owe him a great deal of thanks for coming in here and taking over the mess that had been created for him! In reality, he should have also had a Bowl trip during his tenure here.
